  1. Good enough. To be honest, the Helix packs such a great overdrive collection that i highly doubt that i'm going to really need external pedals., but sometimes is fun to experiment. My Helix arrives tomorrow , can't wait.
  2. I remember and old thread about the noise levels on the fx loop making the use of external pedals very difficult. Is that something that was resolved on later firmware updates? Oddly enough , by searching the same subject i landed on other forums prasing the way pedals react with the Helix. So , what's the deal ? Thanks!
  3. Guitar to Pod HD guitar in , FX send from the Pod HD to X3 input , HD's FX return to 1/4 left mono out of the X3 ? I want to use one of the cabs in the x3 while still using the hd as my main amp modeler and interface. Thanks!
  4. Yeah i tried all of that. Now i wonder, is the the guitar input problem common and fixeable? If the aux in is actually the same as the guitar in , i don't care that much then, but i don't know for sure.
  5. Yeah i know that, even with the correct gain staging, the guitar in input was super noisy , like it's not grounded correctly. i can even hear changes in the noise character while i disconnect other electric equipment in the room. That's no the case with the Aux in. I can't believe how much time i was using it like that.
  6. When i plug my guitar to the guitar in , im getting a big amount of noise when using high gain, i also noticed that introduces some weird stuff that im sure is not only the amps gain acting up. I tested the aux in and everything noise related is gone, is very quiet in comparison and only one noise gate with low threshold ( 30) is enough to make it totally silent with high gain amps. Is the Aux in the same quality/gain structure as the Guitar In ? Why the guitar input sounds like that ? I just did this test because i was so upset with the pod being so noisy and bang.....what a diference.
  7. http://www.radioshack.com/gold-plated-1-4-stereo-headphone-plug-adapter/2740894.html#.VTBqL_B2G1l I need to use 2 set of headphones so me and a friend can listen while we record the guitars. We are using the pod HD via USB as the soundcard? Thanks in advance guys.
  8. This clipping thing seems like an easy fix, i dont understand why line6 don't do anything about it ,i guess is already to late. Some cabs like the treadplate clip even at low volumes. Also some units clip with eq at different volume levels, my friends pod hd pro clips in the same way when adding post eq but with the amp volume set at 70 (same preset than the one i use) , mine for example start distorting at 40-45(treadplate cab). And by watching some youtube videos, some units doesn't clip at all,so weird.......
  9. Yeah sure, everything bypassed. The aux in of the pod is the righ option for a line level conection?
  10. Is that possible ? using the pod just like an interface ro record my own amp and use impulses or the onboard cab sims on the pod?
