  1. I love it for music, sounds better than my Sonos or Bose unit....but its not true stereo. There is little if any noticeable separation.
  2. It doesn't copy them all over, like two songs off a CD? I tried removing them and copying again. Same thing. Some CDs, only one song can be played. The other songs are there, but greyed out. Wish I could figure this out. Ugh.
  3. Can't you see rated tones when you play the song?
  4. It should get better, like the patches on customtone. I own a POD HD500X and have got a few good patches off it. That's out of about 12 pages of tones. I did put up about 5 of my own, and I was happy to see some have 300+ downloads. I was like, cool, I don't suck. HA That said, we shouldn't have to do all their work. Line6 is partially at fault, for not starting it us out with a decent library (subjective) of tones. Surely there are some guitar players at Line6. Supersonic and Southern Fried comes up on every other song. I went from Whitesnake to Machine and got the same tones! I am sure it will get better though, in time. I am more concerned with the metadata matches -Clean tones come up for dirty metal songs/weak....metadata is like a Google search, mega inconsistent.
  5. That's hilarious, switch keeps breaking so they remove it? My water pump was leaking, I should have just took it out....lol. Shakes head.
  6. I love using the AMPLIFI to play music....sounds better than my Sonos or Bose docking station. It's worth $hundreds just on that feature. However, I just noticed a very annoying hiss when the music is not playing. If you play music loud when its off you are left with a loud static-sounding hiss (I ran back in the room thought water was running, seriously, it's a loud hiss). Anyone have this HISS issue as well? Any way to stop it? Also: ALL my songs don't copy over? I select a band, and it copies CDs, except most of them have only 1 or 2 songs? the rest of the CD is not there. (I can toggle the switch to show the songs not on device or show two that copied over). I am confused as to why they aren't showing, shouldn't it copy ALL the songs off the HD? The songs are ON my iPad, I can play them in iTunes but not in AMPLIFI.
  7. I dont' think so, I have a PODHD500X and it does it as well. Shows what speed your delay is (like you need to know 24/7?). At least it has a power button, unlike my PDOHD500X where there is NO power button...none? and you have to unplug it to turn it off. How cheesy is that?
  8. It works, but BADLY, it has a annoying HUM that doesn't go away....I just read the other users complaints.
  9. It's probably semantics, their definition of stereophonic is a very broad one.
  10. I did that, no tones found....trying all kinds of searches. I think there are very few tones. Most of the times the SAME tones come up on different songs. And some really silly ones, clean? tones on a metal song? why? Metadata - it's weak!
  11. :D :lol:As if Line6 is reading.

    Tones

I get a lot of the same tones for everything and every genre!
  13. I just got it, and most of the iTunes library is NOT available...wondering if I have something wrong here....more stuff not playing than can be played.
  14. You switch between devices, from iPad to iPhone...and there are connection problems...you have to pair it again in settings. Most of my iTunes library will not play....not impressed....may take it back to GC soon.
  15. Okay, so I'm convinced that it's best for me to stay with what I have, I'm not into spending more than I paid for the POD, if I need better tone, I can plug into my MarkV or H&K amps. Thanks for saving me $$
  16. Thanks for all the input so far! I have a couple tube amps that I can plug into if need be, and am looking for something to fit on my desk. I rarely record anything that's why I never mentioned it. Just wanted to improve the output and figured a medium set of monitors would be better than computer speakers. As far as mids, I play in dropped tunings/heavy metal and mids are barely on, so I'd avoid Equator D5s if they have more mids, as I want less. I play live with mids on between 0 & 1. My assumption is the 1/4 to 1/8 mini plug adapter I use through the headphone jack into computer speakers are no doubt robbing some sound quality and not stereo. I saw some JBLs and Mackie monitors in the $149 range that I think may sound better. If it's noticeably better, I'm happy. I guess the question is what is noticeably different to what I have now, the powered computer speakers. I am hoping it will sound at least 33% better than the jury ridged speaker setup I have now, which would make me a buyer. I just need to get a pair from GC (30 day no questions asked refund), plug them in a test the playback tone against the other speakers. B)
  17. Great, I appreciate the feedback. I was thinking some 5 inch powered. I saw a few decent brands in the $149 a pair range that are giving me GAS.
  18. I have my PODHD500X under my desk and play through some Logitech computers speakers using the headphone jack. Since they are powered speakers with a sub woofer, it actually sounds pretty good. I am guessing that using an adapter from 1/4" to mini plug (headphone out) is not the best signal/sound possible. Question: I was wondering if using the 1/4 outputs into powered monitors would be a noticeable improvement? I have a space issue and the new LT3 Line6 speaker is too pricey for me. Just wondered if any other players use the POD into speakers or powered monitors and what kind? Thanks for your tips. B)
  19. Thanks Real Zap. Silverhead: I don't think we are speaking about the same issue, I understand what send and receive do and mean and never asked. As stated in my first post...the Line6 instructions online (saving patches) say go to the save panel, not Send or Receive so naturally, one would look for the word save and the save panel. It would be accurate to say in order to save the patch to the unit, go to the send and receive panel which functions as the save panel; or just take the word save out in the heading and explanation and use the correct terminology.
  20. Okay, thanks...so the SEND = save? I would never have guessed. Does the RECEIVE = delete? jut kidding, thanks for the prompt answer. FYI - for some awesome premade patches this is the best place (for some reason it won't let me paste the link) glenndelane.com.patch
  21. I'm confused, sorry for being a bonehead... Which one of those buttons Saves the patch to the POD? I want to keep the same patches after I turn it off and back on again.
  22. In reading the "How to save and load your POD HD500X presets....it states in the last bullet point "Use the Save Panel options to "send" the desired presets.....This action permanently overwrites the respective Presets within your device's internal memory." WHERE is the Save Panel? I can only see "Save as" from the pull-down menu....
