  1. Yes, I put them there on purpose because I thought that most guys that use IRs would use at least the first 50 slots. Thanks for your comments guys ! I won't work on the Variax presets soon unfortunately, I barely touch my guitars these days... I'm sick with a nasty tropical flu that doesn't want to go away :/
  2. Thanks Rocco, I'm pleased to read that :)
  3. Some insight on how I tweak : I wanted to make it short so it's only basic here. My presets are usually much more refined
  4. Absolutely, an IR is at least half of the sound Check how close the sounds of free different modellers are with similar IRs (although I tweaked those I use in the Amplifire and Helix to add some thickness, which the Axe has more of) : http://axefremen.blogspot.com/2016/08/one-song-three-modellers-and-videos.html Of course, the differences are much more apparent when you play, and for the listener, when you bypass the backing track and listen to the guitars only
  5. Absolutely not... I should be playing the local tropical music to make money where I live :/ selling presets is the only way to earn something out of music for me !
  6. recorded with 4 presets from my pack
  7. I don't have a bass guitar unfortunately, but I thought of borrowing one, yes. If I do bass (and acoustic guitar) presets, I'll just add them to the existing pack for free
  8. Link for two free presets and IRs in the comments of that video :
  9. A few weeks, I worked too much on those presets and need to recharge my batteries :) However I may upload a few bonus presets for the current pack soon, as I just captured IRs from my 2x12 cab with G12 EVH speakers
  10. Thanks again for your response guys ! In case you missed it, I also released this : http://axefremen.blogspot.com/2016/07/line6-helix-acoustic-simulation-presets.html Check the first minutes of that video : I always have Larry Carlton tone in "The BP Blues" from "Last nite" live album when I'm after a blues-rock tone, or some of Robben Ford tones too Of course I'll let the users comment on that ;)
  11. I did another demo, a much shorter one. This one is from a tweaking session 12 days ago, I was mostly adding a volume block and tweaking the delay/reverb in all presets - but I left out the tweaking parts, there's just some noodling on different blues-rock and rock tones here
  12. Thanks for your feedback ! I tried to rename the setlists on the editor but couldn't I'm using a pair of Atomic CLR - but also my old hifi speakers, as my ears are tuned to them.
  13. I finally had the time to do a proper video demo… one hour playing (warning : extreme overindulgence !), 2:30 hours editing, 20 min uploading and here it is :p
  14. Usually I use bridge humbuckers for everything high gain, single coil on cleans (or both humbuckers like the middle position on a Les Paul), and either one for crunch. The preset list is very comprehensive in that regard, check in what category is a preset http://pages.intnet.mu/fremen/Misc/Femen_Helix_presets.xls
  15. Good patches! Of course the ones I use will be eq'd to my exact tastes. I tend to have more low mids in my presets, but that's just personal preference. Great building blocks/starting points to your own versions of them, though! Thanks ! I used to use more low mids but it was conflicting with other instruments... Next I'm going to work on a smaller pack for Variax users. My JTV 89 models has been customized to death, that should be fun ! Some may disagree here (heck Thibault might disagree) but I look at these more as amazing templates. Obviously some of the second setlist are meant to be ready to fly presets, but most of the others are just amazing sounding templates that you can plug stuff in like delays, extra dirt etc. I actually think his ear is amazing and can't imagine people tweaking the eq as that is what makes his stuff great to me but to each their own. We all have different tastes, and rigs that make a difference. I highly recommend these to all new Helix users. I get the people that say to make your own but these are a great way to learn the building blocks of the unit. No, I agree, you can use them as starting points for sure !
  16. Ah, funny thing regarding dual paths : it's only after a while that I realized that each has its own DSP. I was hitting the ceiling with everything on the first one on a dual metal amp setup when I remembered that I read that somewhere…
  17. It's 25 IRs. There's individual presets and also two setlists, in which I sorted the presets by type
  18. Please let me know how this work for you when you do !
  19. Hi guys ! I just released my much anticipated pack of presets... Get them here : http://axefremen.blogspot.com/2016/08/fremen-helix-big-pack-175-presets.html You can check the presets list here : http://pages.intnet.mu/fremen/Misc/Femen_Helix_presets.xls I've yet to record a proper demo but I posted a few teasers already :
