  2. That is a really good idea. It. Reminds me of similar features in other products. Cakewalk's Sonar has a feature to save/load complex fx chains, and the Boss SY-300's Blend function feature let's swap chunks of settings between patches.
  3. The Helix can play backing tracks through any of its various inputs, including USB. With an inexpensive gadget (https://www.google.com/search?q=bluetooth+audio+adapter&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari) you can play tracks from your phone. I think you'll only need one or the other. Since you say your guitar skills are still developing, I'd say the Firehawk probably does all you need right now. By the time you've worn out the Firehawk there will be another, even more amazing, generation of gear.

    Layering

It is only possible with the Roland gadgets you mentioned. I was doing exactly that for a while, but I got tired of carrying a GR-55 along with my HD500. it worked well, but the effect was too subtle for the music I was playing.

    Helix FAQ

I'm very curious about the 3 Oscillator synth. My BOSS GP-10 has one, I use it to create a virtual keyboardist playing pads along with me. They are synth mavens posting convincing Rhodes and organ patches for it. Is the Helix synth anything like the BOSS SY-300? Is it polyphonic?
