Well that sucks

So any news on the update or same old answer, soon

First I will say I really do like the Firehawk, compared to my HD500 it can be much easier to get a good sounding patch quickly. Sometimes not having tons of features and options to mess with is better. Set up my amp, get a mod, delay and maybe a OD and I am set to go. That being said I feel as though there are many small details that were over looked that need to be fixed. Some will hopefully be in the update some maybe in a new model further down the line. I understand that there is a process to approving the update etc but for some of us here we are hanging on the fence debating to keep the Firehawk or return it. Remember there is a limited time most retail sellers will give to return an item and mine is quickly approaching. I simply do not understand why someone at Line6 can not just say yes that issue or that issue will be addressed. Sorry but after many times being disappointed by the lack of addressing problems or being told something is on the way there needs to be some kind of conformation, if not I may have to return my Firehawk. For me the BT is much too glitchy, dropping out on both IOS & Android devices. The lag time for me is not as much an issue but also needs to be addressed. The software itself is setup way different depending on what device you are using, I use my iPad mini, iPhone 6 and my Galaxy tab each has a different way to save and access patches, why? Yes I would have loved for there to be a hardwired software solution much like Line6 edit for the times I don't need to have a mobile editing solution, a slightly higher 2nd level for the stomp buttons so I won't accidentally hit the lower ones, up and down buttons that light up for dark stages and yes a looper. All I am really asking for is not a specific time for the update but some assurance that the main issues we are all complaining about will indeed be fixed.

why would it have to be sanctioned by Apple and or Google when you can simply use the USB and your computer to do the install. Also if we have to wait for that approval can we at least have the release notes to know what to expect.

My guess is another 2 weeks before we see anything

Part of the problem I see is the mix of HD and Non HD amp models. Now that we have both on the same system you can really tell the difference. To me the Hd model amp are much louder, I normally set my vol at around 60 or so. With the Non HD amp models I find I have to set the vol to 80 or higher. There are ways to work around this, setting up HD amp models at lower vol etc. The best way would be to have a mixer or dare I say global eq (it only took forever to get one for the Hd500).

I am guessing we won't see the update until late May.

Line 6 is not that great when it comes to customer service along with product release dates. So now the Firehawk and the hd software are not going to see the light of day until almost the end of April, which I am guessing turns into sometime in May. That puts them several mts over what they stated, nice job line 6.

I will go back to my original statement, they don't care bottom line and thats ok I guess. I hear all the arguments of cost, and profit line, ect and they may be right. All I know if that being a left handed guitar player you do a lot of searching for guitars, mods and ways to get what we want. I had found a great place when the first series of variax guitars came out where people were doing transplants and mods to create the guitar they wanted, the parts were the same for the electronics and for the bridge I went out and got an aftermarket one to create my transplant variax. Its just a shame that as left handed guitar players I have seen other companies finally come around and offer left handed versions of guitars for us yet the mighty line 6, who claim to be innovators won't.
-
well they made a series 500 when the variax first came out so it can be done and no nothing special as far as the electronics is required. they skipped us on the JT model and I am guessing because it was a more expensive guitar. Now that Yamaha is building the guitar and has and still makes left handed models (one being the model used for the variax) I see no reason to not make them. More and more guitar companies make left handed models for players so the the excuse that it does not pay or is not profitable is BS. Schecter makes tons of left handed models and they make money from them as do Fender, Epiphone, EVH and many other guitar manufactures. It all depends on if the company in this case Line 6 care to make there product for left handed players. It seems as though Line 6 does not and that is a shame because I and many others would be very interested in this new model especially since it looks like the guitar may be priced more affordable.

Bottom line Line 6 could but won't because they don't care.

Yeah I know the Firehawk is not yet ready to release but seriously if march or the beginning of april are real dates your gonna tell me you don't have the manual ready, BS. I can see small software tweeks being made maybe even waiting for parts to come in for production but to be this close and still hearing they are not finished does not sound like the real story. People like myself who are thinking about the firehawk are willing to wait but I would like to see a more comprehensive look at what it can do, what amps and effects are loaded some real specs. All we keep hearing and seeing is some comparisons to the HD500 but no real info.
-
I do the same thing, just the amp maybe some verb. Once I get a good sounding tone going through my FRFR then I add the effects. Sometimes live less if better.

So what else is in the upgrade? new amp packs you have to buy and a global eq, is that it?
