  1. Just one system. I am referring to the guitar input only. The HD500 is set as the sound device. So when playing any audio other than the guitar, the audio is cut off when the USB cord is disconnected.
  2. Ok. Tried it at home. The volume increases the same for all of the following: 1) Unexpected shutdown; 2) Deliberate shutdown; 3) Disconnect the USB cord with everything working normally. The volume increase is significant for these events but not as great as turning the Master Volume on the HD to max. In all case the volume returns to the pre-shutdown/disconnect level when the computer has restarted or when the USB cord is reconnected. I guess the USB connection is somehow lowering the HD volume while the computer is running and the USB connection is in place, but not when the computer is shut down or the USB connection is not in place. I guess this is not a big deal, but was curious why PC shutdown and/or USB disconnect didn't just leave the HD500 volume unchanged.
  3. I'm not sure that it is an abonormal reset that is causing it, or just that the volume goes up when the computer is shut down for any reason (I will try that tonight when I get off work). It has only happened when the HD500 is connected to the PC via USB (this is the only way I have ever operated it). I never shut the PC down on purpose (but will try that tonight to see if the volume increase occurs even with an orderly shutdown). I can report that when the shutdown occurs and reboots, that somewhere during the reboot process that the volume returns back to the pre-shutdown level, even though I may have to later disconnect the HD500 momentarily to get it to re-sync with the HD Edit. I will also determine what happens if I just unhook the USB connection while everything is else is running normally.
  4. Not easily. Just have two desktops at home now - guitar stuff is all in a finished basement and other computer is upstairs. I was hoping that someone that has a HD500 connected to a computer could just shut their computer down temporarily and tell me if the volume changes when the PC is off, and then returns to the previous level when they boot their PC back up.
  5. I am using an HD500 with all the current updates connected via USB to a fairly new PC running Windows 8.1. I am still trying to resolve an issue with the PC that makes it occasionally unexpectedly reset (happens about once per week). I have no reason to suspect that the HD500 or HD500 Edit is causing these reset problems. Whenever the PC resets, the volume of the HD500 goes from the pre-reset level to extremely loud. It is not distorted or producing any noises or other artifacts, it simply gets much louder - similar to having the Master Volume go to max. When the computer resets, the volume goes back to the level it was running prior to resetting. My question is simply if that is the expected behavior, or if there is some method of preventing a large spike in volume during the infrequent occurences of the computer resetting (hopefully I will get that issue resolved in the not too distant future).
  6. I am experiencing a similar problem. Have a fairly new Gateway DX 4870 desktop running Windows 8.1 I use with the HD500 and HD Edit. Works great for a few hours at a time then BSOD and various system error messages. Not sure how to determine for sure it is the Line 6 drivers. I also had the problem with Windows 8 before upgrading to 8.1.
