  1. On a whim I plugged the headphone output from my Helix floor unit into my 4-ohm, 2x12 speaker cabinet. Instant practice amp. The headphone out drives the cabinet perfectly well for low volume practice--no amp required.
  2. +1 clipping indicators. Really great idea.
  3. See this thread: squeak Squeak SQUEAK
  4. Now I wonder if I can use an external footswitch for the same effect. I tried plugging a simple momentary switch into EXP3, but that doesn't work.
  5. OK, that worked fine for a new preset. I'll go figure out what was wrong with my more complex preset. Thanks!
  6. Thanks, but I've done that process. I can clearly see that the footswitch is assigned to the feedback parameter, with min:0 and max: 100%. But pressing the FS does not change the value. I will try again with a blank preset, so other assignments don't conflict...
  7. Helix floor. Firmware 2.50. Interested in your idea.
  8. I would like to use a footswitch in momentary mode (as opposed to latching) to change the feedback parameter of a delay. Possible? The idea is to emulate the "havoc" or "runaway" mode on some analog delay pedals.
  9. Old thread, but I just got my Helix floor unit, and wanted to add my observations, using Firmware 2.50. I'm using an empty preset--no amp model, no FX blocks, nothing. Plugged a sine wave generator into guitar input: 1KHz at 1v p-p. Then I connected my oscilloscope to the 1/4" mono output. The big Volume knob allows unity output (1v p-p) at about 1:30 o'clock on the dial. With Volume at maximum, the output is 2.5v p-p, or 250% gain. I plan to use Helix as a stomp box (no amp modeling) in my cover band. So the question about unity gain is a good one--I'd want my guitar to sound identical plugged directly into my amp as it does when run through the Helix with all FX off. In factory default mode, this means setting the Volume knob to 1:30 o'clock. In Global Settings > Ins/Outs, if I change 1/4" Outputs to "Instrument" instead of "Line", then output at max Volume knob setting IS unity, and is not boosted.
  10. Me too. Though I have the HX Effects unit, firmware 2.50. And my patch has legacy Spring reverb module. I played a gig last night, and when exiting tuner mode, LOUD pops, with huge spring reverb crash. Gave the band heart attacks.
  11. Yes, that works. Forgot to mention, I'm using firmware 2.50.
  12. Sure, that works, but it's not a good solution, because then you lose your custom effect settings.
  13. I have an HX Effects unit, and I have customized the name of a block. Now I want to erase my custom name, reverting to the default effect name. Here's what the user manual says on page 13: While pressing DELETE does indeed delete all the characters, when I press Save, I just have a blank field where the name should be. Can anyone get this process to work correctly?
