  1. Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try.
  2. Thanks for the replies. I started that video a while back but gave up part way thru as most of the info seemed way more than I needed. I'll revisit it. I also tried going thru the manual first but nothing I read seemed to address what I was looking for. The only time I'm not in stomp mode is when I change presets. And I only used two presets (on a gig). I view each preset like a different pedal board. From stomp mode, I press the mode switch which brings me into preset mode and I select my other preset. At this point, I'd like to turn individual effects on or off but I need to press the mode switch again to bring me into stomp mode. (In reality, this isn't the end of the world. I'm usually not changing presets in the middle of a song. I'm just trying to tap into the full potential of the Stomp XL.) Thanks again for your help.
  3. Getting ready to take my Stomp XL on its first gig and I'm trying to work thru the flow from one mode to another. Currently, I'll be in Stomp Mode. I'll step on the Mode footswitch and it brings me to Preset Mode. I'll select a different preset. And the pedal stays on the Preset Mode screen. I have to hit the Mode footswitch again to get back to the Stomp Mode. What I'd like to do is from the Stomp Mode, hit the Mode footswitch to go into the Preset Mode, select a new preset and go right back into Mode without hitting the Mode footswitch again. Not sure if this is possible. I've looked around but couldn't find anything. Any help is much appreciated. Thx.
  4. As a new user, this is awesome; very helpful. Thanks for putting it together.
  5. As an HX Effects for the last six months or so, I agree with the OP. While most parameters are intuitive, some are not. Even if there was an official Line 6 web page, that'd be great.
  6. There's a polarity switch inside the DVP4. Try reversing it and use a TS cable. That's what fixed it for me.
  7. Did you try making a simple patch with only one overdrive and nothing else? Basically, guitar -> cable -> HX Effects -> cable -> amp. This would remove as many variable as possible.
  8. At Line 6's request, I've sent them info from my unit. It's been a week or so since I've heard from them. They've gone dark. I would think they'd want to find out what's going on with their product.
  9. I sent Line 6 some information and they were going to test it out and get back to me. That was towards the end of January and I haven't heard back from them.
  10. After my initial posting here, I tried doing a reset along with the 2.71 upgrade. It worked fine with the default patches. It was after installing my backup when the output disappeared.
  11. I'm getting the same thing. Updated my HX Effects to 2.71. No sound. When I go into bypass mode, if I'm in DSP bypass, it's no sound. If it's analog bypass, I have sound.

  13. Thanks for the reply. I guess I need to rethink my strategy. I essentially have a patch where I might want to use one of two different reverbs. And I have only one vacant footswitch to put them in. I was hoping to use a snapshot to essentially swap the reverbs in and out with the option of turning the effect on or off with the same footswitch. I guess I could use two different presets but it's not as convenient changing presets as it is changing snapshots.
  14. I'm trying to set up a very simple snapshot as a trial but I'm running into problems. I have a preset with two blocks, one distortion and one chorus. With snapshot 1 I'd like to have the distortion on and controlled by foot switch 5 and the chorus off and not displayed on the board. With snapshot 2 I'd like to have the chorus on and controlled by foot switch 5 and the distortion off and not displayed on the board. Basically, each snapshot only displays the one effect that turned on. Is this possible? I have the two snapshots and they are turning on and off the two effects but the effect displayed does not change. In my example above, snapshot one shows the distortion under foot switch 5 and it is lit up. Snapshot 2 still shows the distortion under foot switch 5 and it is grayed out, I'd like foot switch 5 to show a lit up chorus.
