Great News! Latest Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 works with Helix!

Works for me as well, just did a short test though. Looks like the issue is solved. -
You're welcome. I'll update it whenever there is a change on helixhelp.com and send it to Jason to put it on the site for download. Rock on, Andreas

Good idea, have done so! :)

I've been in search of the right sound and setup for several years now and have tried all kinds of solutions down that road: Digitech GNX4 (loved the all-in-one approach with Amps & Effects, Drums, Recorder), Digitech RP300 / RP1000 / iPB10, Line 6 Toneport UX8 / KB37 / UX1, Line 6 Pod, Boss GT10 / GT100, Zoom R8, Vox ToneLab ST / EX, NI Guitar Rig. Also tried some Amps (Line 6 Amplifi, Marshall MG50, Marshall AFD100 with 1960 4x12) plus a Line 6 M13. Sound wise good but with a cumbersome handling for DAW recording or jamming to backing tracks. I was never really satisfied with any of the above. Until I got my Helix a few weeks ago :)! I've added a BOSS RC-300 LoopStation and two StageSource speakers (1x L2t, 1x L2m) to the setup. Now I've got an incredibly sounding rig with amazing routing & recording flexibility. Some 3rd party IRs (Ownhammer) put the icing on the cake for me. Probably all I ever need. I'm finally happy. :D

Funny discussion. I had a GNX4 for years and loved it very much from the all-in-one approach (Amps & Effects, Drums, Recorder). However I had only really two good sounding presets. So I've been in search of the right sound ever since and have tried all kinds of solutions: Digitech RP300 / RP1000 / iPB10, Line 6 Toneport UX8, Line 6 Pod, Boss GT10 / GT100, Zoom R8, Vox ToneLab ST / EX, you name it I had them all. Also tried some Amps (Line 6 Amplifi, Marshall MG50, Marshall AFD100) plus a Line 6 M13, sound wise good but cumbersome handling for DAW recording or jamming to backing tracks. I never was really satisfied. Until I got my Helix a few weeks ago :)! I've added a BOSS RC-300 LoopStation and two StageSource speakers (1x L2t, 1x L2m) to the setup. Make sure you connect directly into the Mac's USB port and not through a hub (can work but is known to be troublesome...)

I went to a DIY-store and bought a 3 feet long roundwood with 35mm diameter, cut it to right length. Problem solved. Thanks a lot! :)

Yes, according to the manual it makes a difference: The Upright/Horizontal orientation is detected by the accelerometer (different sensor) but the pole sensor will activate the "virtual tilt back" to "project the speaker's output upwards" if no sensor is detected to compensate for position on the ground/floor. Anyway your idea sounds promising, I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Hi All, I've put my L2ms on Zaor monitor stands at home, so they are in ear-height but not mounted on a pole, if interested see http://www.zaorstudiofurniture.com/classic/monitor-stand (There is no risk in tipping them over so I'm happy with this solution as it requires little floorspace compared to a pole tripod.) However the sensor will not detect it and the L2m will "think" that it stands on the floor. How to prevent this? Can the pole sensor but (manually) activated in this case?

Thanks for pointing out the templates, very handy! Everybody interested in creating own patches should give a closer look to templates, saves a lot of time. For the factory settings to include the send/return loop however still every single one needs to be edited. Ah what the heck, I make the best out of it and consider it training on the device ;-)

I don't have the L2ms yet but I've tested the setup with my small studio monitors today. It does work like a charm, here is what I did: - Global settings in Helix changed for Send 1, 2 and Return 1, 2 to be line level (default is instrument level) - Guitar goes into Helix - Send 1+2 from the Helix go to Instrument In 1+2 on the RC-300. - Main Output L+R from the RC-300 go into Return 1+2 on the Helix. - 1/4" Output L+R from Helix go into the studio monitors (later to be changed by using the L6-link when the L2ms have arrived) BUT to use this setup it looks like I would have to change 2 things in each and every preset on the Helix: - Adding a block "Send 1+2" in the main path just before the output so the processed guitar signal is routed into the RC-300 for recording/looping - Adding a second signal path with "Return 1+2" as the input so the three audio tracks from the RC-300 get out to the speakers (or alternatively add another block "Return 1+2" to the main signal path between the send-block and the output). Too bad this can't be done globally or am I overlooking something here?

Hi there, I've ordered a pair of StageSource L2m speakers. My initial intension was to connect them via L6 link to the Helix. However I still want to include my Boss RC-300 in the setup. So I think I have to ditch L6-link and go from the Helix with 2x 1/4" out into the RC-300 L/R instrument ins and from the 1/4" outs into the L2m 1/4" (or XLR) in, right? Or am I missing some cabling option here? Maybe connecting the RC-300 in a send/return loop of the Helix instead? Is anybody using a similar setup with Helix, RC-300 and StageSource FRFRs? Best regards, Ace
