  1. Allright. My main goal is to play certain songs with the four available snapshots of a preset. With the snapshots I save the blocks on/off status and the six stomp buttons status. the stomp buttons send (in my case) CC MIDI data to toggle on/off the six send/returns of the Voodoo Labs HEX Looper. example: my foot controller sends CC69 value 0 for snapshot 1 of HXFX this enables/disables the blocks in HXFX and enables/disables the six stomp buttons of the HXFX the six stomp buttons send CC toggles to the Voodoo Labs HEX looper (CC80-CC85, value 0-64 off, 65-127 on) to turn on/off the six effects loops so far so good - this works flawlessly and perfect. but now what happens when I want to enable/disable one of the six HEX effect loops without using snapshots? I need to use the CC49-54 to enable/disable the HXFX buttons but as the manual says: "NOTE: These MIDI CC 49~54 messages control the respective switch’s function while in Stomp, Preset, or Snapshot footswitch mode" That means that I need to be in Stomp mode to enable/disable the right thing, if I were in snapshot mode the CC49-54 would switch snapshots instead of the stomps or change presets in preset mode. That´s why I want to be in stomp mode. a sidenote: of course it's possible to send CC data directly from the foot controller to the HEX Looper but this would disturb my concept that everything after HXFX in the MIDI chain is controlled by HXFX...
  2. it´s not about the blocks it´s about external effects and stomp boxes I am MIDI controlling. when I am in snapshot mode I will change snapshots, when I am in stomp mode, I am able to control the six buttons however they are programmed. mostly I use the six buttons to turn on/off the Voodoo Lab HEX Looper. there are six stomp boxes connected and I save the on/off status mostly with snapshots. sometimes I need to manually add an effect (block or stomp). this only works in stomp mode.
  3. Hi rd2rk! momentary means that as soon as I press on a preset or snapshot HXFX returns to stomp mode view immediately but I need to press it directly on the HXFX. loading a preset or snapshot via MIDI does not change pages/views and do not go into stomp mode. my HXFX is in a rack so it is not possible to use it as a foot controller. my purpose for this is that I want to change my snapshots as usual and after that I want to be 100% sure to be in stomp mode. In most presets/snapshots the six buttons are MIDI CC programmed to enable/disable some (real) stomp boxes patched on a MIDI looper from Voodoo Labs.
  4. Hi folks! I use the HX FX always remotely controlled with a MIDI foot controller (Nektar Pacer), which works great! However, there’s one problem. Regardless of whether I’m in stomp mode or manually editing something in another mode, I need to stay in stomp mode or automatically switch back to stomp mode. Once I press a snapshot or preset, it should switch into stomp mode. This is generally a feature (see quote from the manual, problem description after that). my problem is that I can´t use the "Momentary" feature when using the MIDI foot controller. When I change snapshots with it the mode does not change, it stays where it was and does not switch into stomp mode. what I am trying to accomplish is that after switching a snapshot I want to have the possibility to switch stomps individually also from the MIDI foot controller. But as long as the "Momentary" does not work with MIDI commands this workflow is not possible. It would be great if these behaviors of "HX FX auto Stomp Mode" would also work when remote controlled. I think there is no reason against it, isn´t it? Thanks Claus
  5. Hi! under some circumstances I need to be sure that I am in stomp mode to enable/disable a button there instead of in snapshot mode when remote controlling it from my MIDI controller.. at this time the CC71 is a simple switch no matter what velocity value. Could this be accomplished to change that to a 0-63/64-127 switch? thanks Claus
  6. and yes just like the tremolo, the blue status light is blinking in the correct tempo but not on bar/beat, there is nearly every time an offset...
  7. Hi! I came across this problem too, getting MIDI beat clock from Pro Tools. MBC works perfectly fine with delays and modulation fx which can be synced with it, no problem at all. only tremolo fx don't work 100% right. They do sync to the incoming tempo but the effect is not on the bar/beat. it seems that it just snaps anytime to the incoming tempo but ignores bar/beat and so it´s a hit or miss if the tremolo is in time or shifted by 1/16th, 1/32th,...
  8. Thanks for the suggestions and links! Will take a look!
  9. Hi! i´m trying to have a tremolo synced to the tempo of an incoming MIDI beat clock from Pro Tools. They do sync to the incoming tempo but the effect is not on the bar/beat. it seems that it just snaps anytime to the incoming tempo but ignores bar/beat and so it´s a hit or miss if the tremolo is in time or shifted by 1/16th, 2/16th,... any solution for that? thanks
  10. Thanks! This is a pity not to have Instant Hotkey Commands on preset load only...
  11. Hi! I´m trying to send keyboard shortcuts with my HX Effects only when a preset loads. how can I avoid that it's also sending them with the first loaded snapshot when using it again? Thanks!
  12. Hi! I´m trying to use key commands to control the Pro Tools cursor. There cursor should go to specific memory locations when I launch a HX Effects preset. what I need is a series of keystrokes. For example: marker #1 in Pro Tools is .1. (period, number, period) and all done on the numeric keypad. is this possible?
  13. Hi! Is it possible to create a row of hotkeys on preset load? My goal is to set the Pro Tools cursor to the right marker location. for example if the song start is marker 25 I need this -> .25. (dot+2+5+dot) will this be possible? Thanks! Claus
  14. does this work with HX Effects too? urgently needed here! "New MIDI message (Helix Floor/Rack/LT/HX Stomp XL): CC71 engages the MODE switch" Thanks Claus
  15. Hi! So, like everyone else does every now and then, I changed my guitar setup. Again. my idea was that for me it is not necessary to use the first three cables in the signal chain of the 7CM for my stereo setup. I don't need any FX of the HX Effects before going into the amp. I only used it for splitting the mono guitar input to the two Sends to my two amps. I changed that to an analog splitter (Lehle) to avoid unnecessary A/D D/A conversion. So the HX Effects is only in the amps effect loops, I only use delays, reverbs, modulation there. I´m fine with that, but my problem is now that I have now no access to the tuner. Am I missing the menu where to let the tuner listen to the signal? Or should I connet the effects loop differently compared to the 7CM? Thank you! Claus
  16. no, you cannot use third party plugins in the free version of Pro Tools.
  17. adding a bypassed effect to an imported preset on snapshot 1 is active in all other snapshots
  18. I updated correctly to 2.80.1 and now on all my presets I´m missing/losing the CC Toggle settings when using snapshots. When I load a preset the cc# I programmed on the switches are there but as soon as I switch on a snapshot, they're gone. what am I doing wrong? or is it a bug?
  19. next problem: adding a bypassed effect to an imported preset on snapshot 1 is active in all other snapshots..

    USB Noise?

what happens when you unplug the power adapter of the Mac?
  22. Hi! Is there a way to stop sending MIDI from Helix FX when using the Looper? It sends MIDI to my amp´s channel switching unit (Voodoo Lab Control Switcher) and turns its chorus on because its the same MIDI control change number. Thanks! Claus
  23. Hi! I completely understand the decision why H FX has only 4 snapshots. To have two buttons free for preset up/down changes. All clear. But please consider that: how about an option in the general preferences where you can choose between: 4 snapshot buttons and 2 preset buttons or 6 snapshot buttons only and when you choose the second mode, the mode button toggles between stomp/preset/snapshot mode. i´d love it!
  24. yes it is possible (my H FX does it this way). Go to Global Settings -> Switches -> Snapshot Mode -> choose "Latch" description in the manual page 40
