BobC6402
At band practice the other night running my POD HD Pro and JTV direct to the PA with an old Vetta longboard. All things normal, but all of a sudden I started getting volume bursts which I've had before and never solved with this rig and my POD Pro X3. Then during one song the volume just died. I had to turn off the POD and then everything came back on. Weird. Lastly, I have it setup to switch the JTV setting with the patch. During the last song I have an acoustic guitar selected with the patch. All started okay, but then about half way through the song the guitar tone switch to a normal clean electric. I could hit the patch button and it would return, but then did it again. I finished with the clean tone. Any ideas? I've looked into things like electrcity spikes and I run conditioners. Could the old longboard be causing issues? It works fine with my old Vetta, but both PODs I have owned now have had volume issues. Any help would be great. I'm scared to gig live with this rig until I get it resolved. Regards BobC
guilhordas
Maybe the vdi can be the problem
silverhead
Just as a test, try disconnecting the VDI and running with a fully charged battery. Of course you will lose the HD Pro control but it should help you narrow down the problem. You could also test (short term only) using a standard Ethernet cable instead of the VDI; just be careful with the connection points. l6podman
Had similar problems with older Variax. I used the HD500 to change the Variax model - use VDI cable You'll notice when it does switch back, it reverts to the current selection of the Variax controls. For ex. If you manually change the settings to acoustic gtr, it would probably stay on acoustic gtr. This is what mine does. It switches to the current setting on the controls after my HD switches the model to the one in the patch. When I go wireless (I have another Variax with a wireless) I have to change the Variax myself. It seems to stay where I set - for the most part. I think it's either a bad ground, or dirty pots/switches. I think it's too soon for this type of problem on the JTV. my variaxes are old (both 300s) I seem to have this problem more during the summer - I play many outdoor gigs in the summer. Could be the humidity Al
stumblinman
Exactly why I haven't pulled the trigger on a JTV, after issues like that with my variax 300.
