HD500 controlled by Cubase 6.0

I need help getting my HD500 to be controlled by Cubase 6.0.

I have set up a midi track on channel 1 Cubase and in one of the lanes, changing #CC051 value from 0 to 127, which should turn on FS1.  I have connected my PC to an AKAI EIE Midi / Audio with one midi out cable connected to my HD500.  I went into set-up on my HD500 and set midi to channel 1.  I have confirmed that Cubase sees the EIE on the midi output.

But when I play the cubase sequence, nothing happens on the HD500 when it passes the 0-127 trigger point.

Is there anything special I need to enable on the HD500 as I have spent far too much time on this trying to figure it out.

Thanks,

Gorden

You shouldn't have to set up anything on the pod itself other than plugging the midi cable (output) in the pod's input port.

In Reaper I have to set the midi hardware ouput, indicating the midi device, on the track that will contain the midi data. Something similar in Cubase?

Hi Gorden.

From my knowledge the FS1 just listens to CC01 while the FS2 just listens to CC02. They are not assignable to other CCs. Was a problem for me too (Our live setup sends CC07 and CC11). I added a Molten Voltage OSMOSIS between our live-sequencer and the HD500X. OSMOSIS translates CC07 to CC01 and CC11 to CC02. I didn't wanted to change all the midi-files.

Hope this helps.

Ups, by the way: I guess CuBase can automatically change the CCs for you (One of the MIDI-Options).
