gshamusphoto
Sorry if this has been covered. I am considering buying a Variax guitar and have a question. I use both a M13 and am now playing with the new Firehawk. Do you need to use a Line 6 amp to utilize all the functions of the Variax guitar? I play through a Late 80's Matchless amp and am not really looking to replace it with a line 6 one. I do have a Spider Valve HD 100 head that I bought off Ebay used but have not really dug into using it much. Any info you guys could provide would be great. I am most interested in the acoustic settings and the capo settings. I also use a Line 6 wireless unit, maybe I can run a cable for my electric use and the wireless for the acoustic use. Thanks for your help.
radatats
makes no difference what amp you use with the Variax... at least the Firehawk fully supports the Variax which is helpful. Does the Matchless have an FX loop? I'm sure you know modellers tend to work better going straight into the power section of a guitar amp if possible... Although I have not used it since I play faintly clean and then add my gain with pedals.
ppiluk
I run my POD HD500 into the effects loop of my amp. It sounds fantastic! You only need to run one cable from the Firehawk to the the Power Amp section of the effects loop.
