spikey
Both the Axe FX and Kemper use a "Heel down= Off" setting in the foot controller setup. This allows you to park a spring loaded mission pedal in the heel down position so it's Wah pedal is disengaged, and when its then rocked forward the wah engages and stays engaged as long as its moving. When the foot leaves the pedal in its heel down position it again disengages the wah. Does the Helix have a "Heel down- Disengage" setting for foot controllers? duncann
No it doesn't. It would certainly be a nice feature. There's a link on ideascale for this: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Switchless-or-Spring-loaded-Wah-mode-for-Helix/739780-23508 In the meantime you could set up the wah so the pedal controls both the position and mix. With a minimum mix of around 30-40 or so, when the wah is in the heel position, it's essentially off. Doing this changes the wah character slightly though, which you may or may not like. All but one of the wahs have an adjustable Fc Low and Fc High, so you can compensate for the not always 100% mix somewhat with these parameters. spikey
We could also just switch the wah on by a "board switch" when needed and not hit a note until we are ready for the sound. But I always like that wah in the background ready to go, and off until I rocked the pedal forward. This really "needs" to be implemented. Thanks for the link! vmoncebaiz
I would love to see this happen as well. I've used morley wahs specifically for that feature, I didn't even like the way they sounded as much as other wahs. In the meantime, I'm also looking into Mission's expression pedal with its own toe click. It doesn't solve the heel down=off thing, but it should help with using external pedals for wah and whammy type effects http://missionengineering.com/?product=sp1-l6h-line-6-helix

How do you assign that Switch ?
Joepeggio
Mission pedal only for Helix Rack version. I think pedal has two out and the rack unit has additional jack for toe switch.
