ricstudioc
So - was typing a whole different post, about to ask a function/procedural question regarding an issue I was having. Literally while tapping away, a thought occurred to me. Went into the other room and fired'er up, went into the menus and scratched my head for a second - and there was my answer. Came back and deleted that post, for this one. What a stellar UI this thing has - I've honestly never seen a front end so easy to suss out. As I mentioned elsewhere I've got some upcoming gigs so I've kept myself focused on getting the basics ready for the shows - but I'm really looking forward to spending some quality time with this box, haven't felt this much potential in years. Hell, I might have to start smoking weed again...... Brilliant work, L6 dudes - when's the neural interface comin' out? Buttons and knobs are so.....2015......
JLondon
I second your comments - especially the last question. I've been completely enamored by the machine itself and h,ave been amazed by the simplicity of it's interface. So I've been reluctant to criticize Line 6 for the delay in providing a computer editor. But I think that time is past. This is not rocket science for them. They've got the basic program framework already with the Helix and "Amplifi" programming. As an owner of the Roland gr-55 (a VERY deep well indeed) I'm very disappointed that they never felt obligated to provide a decent editing software. I'm so thankful that someone took the time to create an amazing, and very professional, program themselves - for nothing ($) - and was willing to share with, and provide updates to, the rest of the world on a voluntary payment basis. ($55). I was never so happy to pay for freeware. I would have paid double. I'd be happy to receive a free program with my Helix but if I have to pay for it - so be it. Just DO IT Line 6! Lachdanan0121
LOL neural interface. That was good. But in all seriousness with VR, AR, and other technologies, its coming at some point barring any ELEs. ;) I hope to feel the same way about my Helix Rack. I was gonna go Axe FX II xl, and one of the reasons I chose to go Helix (out of many I won't get into) is the front UI itself. I hear/read the Axe FX UI can be a pain in the lollipop. And I read/hear that the Helix UI is not only intuitive, and easy to navigate. Its down right exceptional at it.

Absolutely, the Helix UI as well as its array of input/output options is clearly and vastly superior to every other device on the market right now and are the reasons I chose the Helix. I would say that the addition of scene functionality is the one missing piece of the interface required to make it the benchmark for every other device to follow. The lack of scene functionality (ability to assign the same effect/block to multiple footswitches) still forces a bit of tap dancing in certain scenarios and that in my mind is the only major drawback to a UI that in almost every other respect is light years ahead of the competition.
