Add reverb to microphone input?

The Mic input can be selected as an input to a preset, just like Guitar. So you can use any of the FX, including reverb, for vocal processing. Typically for vocals you would not use a standard guitar amp. I prefer to use the Vintage Preamp (you'll find it in the EQ section of FX) as well as some compression and a bit of reverb. EQ, chorus and delay FX can also be used if you wish. Essentially you set up the preset just like you would a guitar preset.

In fact you can use a dual path preset to process guitar and vocals simultaneously. Here's a preset I created some time ago for using an acoustic guitar with vocals.

Thanks for that.  Checked out the patch.  I've been considering one of these:
TC-Helicon VoiceTone Harmony-G XT              I'd have serious doubts about anything in the pod being useful for vocals beyond the compressor,EQ and reverb like your patch.

If you want a processor designed specifically for vocals then yes, you will get better results. The POD is primarily a guitar processor, but it can be used for vocals. I would think some of the FX in the TC-Helicon could be used for an electric guitar too, but it won't match the POD.

For my limited vocal processing needs the POD works well. But certainly the TC-Helicon wioild be better.

LOL

Doesn't the HD500 have an entire setlist designed for Bass/Acoustic/Vocals

But then, if you use it for a microphone, you need to un-learn everything you have learned. Global EQ for a mic doesn't need those "guitar fizz" settings. Thump. Resonance. Every way you use it for guitar is different. It all changes when you use a microphone.
