Is it possible to roll back if 2.0 messes up needed patches?

I have a rather unique way of setting up my patches, that sounds like it won't be really compatible with snapshots, and will require a lot of reprogramming. I'm worried that if I do the update, but only have a day to fix patches, I may be screwed at my next gig. Can I roll back if this happens?

I would wait to do the update if you are worried about anything messing up your upcoming gig.

Amen to that. Never mess with any gear before a performance...especially stuff this complicated. If you're not 99.97% sure how something is gonna work, chaos reigns. The least little hiccup can become a train wreck faster than you can say "Stonehenge"...;)

It's possible to roll back whenever, but the one thing is that if you save patches after loading the newest firmware, those won't be able to be reloaded into an older version. So if you want to do the update with having the option to roll back in your back pocket, just make sure you keep an archived bundle or setlist file to reload.

The new firmware shouldn't mess up and of your existing patches, though. All of my pre-snapshot patches work fine with the new firmware. I have quite a few patches in which I haven't set up snapshots.

Agree w Phil, don't see why the possibility of creating snapshots should break your existing patches.

Back up before updating anyway, of course, and don't overwrite that backup with a 2.0 version.

I keep a set of backups in separate sub-directories with names that correspond to each firmware/editor version in case I ever have to roll back. Backups are tiny and it costs you nothing to keep them. I agree upgrading a day or two before a gig may not be ideal in the event that you have issues during the upgrade or need time to adjust to the new firmware. However, for those who don't use snapshots the Helix will work pretty much identically to the way you have been using it with the exception of having the guitar impedance setting available on a per preset rather than a global setting. The snapshot functionality is fairly transparent to those who don't use it. You will see a few new global settings and some new options on certain screens with the parameter buttons but the workflow you have gotten used to remains pretty much the same. The advantage to upgrading is you get all the new bug fixes, the improved tuner, snapshots, new amps and effects, etc..
