metalkrapo
Hey all, Is there any way I can add a bass line by adding a harmony an octave lower, that applies only to the low E string? I have a JTV if that helps. Thanks!
Ka5par
With a hex pickup or Variax it's probably possible.
CBTL
I don't believe you can do it as a harmony on a single string through the helix! Maybe in work bench you could fiddle about with a twelve string setting and have a lower octive as opposed to a higher octive on the 6th string? You would have to adjust the cent to 0 and the string mix so there the same volume. With all the other strings you may be able to silence the extra "fake" string. Or I could be completely wrong 🤔
radatats
you could do that with the Helix and JTV but its complicated. - You would set up one path with input set to Variax mags for your regular guitar tone. - Make a second path with input set to Variax only for the bass line. You have options for the second path: - Force the Variax low E string tuning down an octave in the Helix Input Block and set up a duplicate path with amps and FX. Might work OK. - Set up a Custom Model in Workbench HD where the only string that is active is the low E tuned down an octave. Add your bass amp/cab to that path and it should be OK.
