Tryptech
Hi all, Does anyone have a method, answer, or know of a way to calibrate the tuner in the 500/Pro to accomodate low tunings on bass? I drop to A flat, and can't even pickup my B string when it's only dropped a half step let alone that far down.
silverhead
.. I drop to A flat.... I'm not sure what you mean by this. The HD500/Pro tuner is chromatic. Leave it calibrated at standard tuning A=440 and plug in your bass. Does the tuner not recognize the octave-lower notes? I think it should, allowing you to tune normally. Tryptech
No sir. It will not pickup anything lower than B flat on the bass. I owned a 500, and now the Pro. I've had the same issue with both units. Interesingly though, It WILL grab all of the low tunings on my 7 string.
MentaLrz
I have this issue so what I do to compensate is either just do a harmonic on the 12th fret or strum a note on the 7th fret of E and match that.
StephenSLR
I've seen quite a few tuner pedals have problems with the low string on a 5 string bass dropped down 1 tone. s
singlecut69
It has trouble reading the low B on my 7 string guitar. I wonder if it has to do with the tension on your strings. You know, like a floppy B compared to a tight B. I suppose the pickups might make a difference as well. Some are better at handling lower tones.
