johnonguitar
I had been using the Headphone Out on Helix for an IK Multimedia iLoud and occasionally appropriate headphones when all of a sudden it's started to distort At first I thought I was losing my mind or that the iLoud was broken but it seems to be the Headphone Out as I've checked it relentlessly. Is there anything really stupid I could have accidentally switched or changed that could cause this or have I just broke something? Cheers
FlyingsCool
Interesting. My Headphone out has sounded like crap through my Shure SRH-850's since I got it. I assumed it was due to the low impedance of the headphones (44 ohms), which supposedly the Helix can overdrive relatively easily. But I've wondered if it was a problem with the headphone jack itself. Haven't had a chance to try a different pair of headphones. The headphones sound fine connected to my computer or Focusrite 6i6. Verne-Bunsen
Interesting. I've spent a lot of time monitoring my Helix through 80ohm Beyerdynamic DT770s and it's always sounded great. I've never had it act up or distort.
FlyingsCool
I guess what I should do is record out of the headphone jack and compare it to a recording from the other outputs.... Sometimes it takes a while for this brain to engage...
MusicLaw
Have only had my Helix for 2 weeks. I've been using Sony MDR-V6 (63 Ohms) direct from the Helix's headphone jack without any distortion nor overload problems. Also have a pair of Shure SE530 IEM (36 Ohms) that work great direct from Helix's headphone jack.
