roscoe5
Anyone here try Helix with a Line 6 HD147? Any reliability issues with these? I just came across a pretty good deal on one locally. It's 300W solid state (150W stereo) with switchable impedance. I've been thinking about upgrading/changing out my Crate Powerblock with a rack amp (Matrix, etc.). But the HD147 should have enough power for my V30 212 cab, looks sexy and keeps me in the L6 world.
PeterHamm
If you're only using the power amp part of that, SURE, I'd rock that. The built-in sounds are basically a POD 2.0 I think. I doubt I'd want to use them today, but they'd be a backup, built-in, wouldn't they!
radatats
The HD147 is basically a Flextone III head and will be great for use with the Helix. You need to watch for these older units beginning to wear out, the caps pop sometimes and the pots can be crackly but for the price you can't beat them. And as Peter said they are fine as a backup in a pinch. You will also need a dummy 1/4 jack in the guitar input or the FX loop will be disabled. I can run my cab in stereo but I usually do a wet/dry to the 2X12. One channel/speaker is pushing the dry amp tone and the other is pushing the wet tone with delay/reverb/etc. Sounds fantastic without any of the live stereo problems. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GPR101
