Helix won't turn on

Last night, at home, after using the Helix for several hours, the power cut out just as I was plugging in the power source for an external wah pedal into the same multi-socket extension that the Helix was plugged into. I don't know if this was coincidental.

I checked the fuse in the power cable plug and it was ok, but the Helix would not turn back on despite trying several different sockets around the house. Randomly after about 2 hours the Helix turned back on when I tried for a final time. I powered it down and went to sleep.

This morning the Helix fired up fine again and I used it for several hours today and switched it off as normal. Now this evening I have come back to switch it on and the lights lit up for a fraction of a second before it cut out and now it won't turn on again. I don't know if it will be able to turn back on in a few hours again. I have tried moving the cable around in case it is a bad cable, but this has no effect.

I have owned the Helix for almost a year after having purchased it off of eBay. Any advice?

My guess would be that the unit has some type of overload protection like a fusible linkage.  Computers do the same thing when they overheat or have a power surge.  It's in place on computers in order to allow onboard electricity to dissipate prior to attempting to reboot.

Buy a Furman power conditioner.  They're all of $120 and mine has saved my a$$ more than once.

Good luck!
