fenderod
I have a Helix on the way, watching a lot of tutorials and re-reading the manual. I've been wondering whether it will allow me to send greater solo volume increases to the FOH board than the increases in my monitor output. I know I can vary overall output level by snapshot, but to vary the the volume spread between outputs, is my only option to create identical block paths, using one for my mix and one for FOH, and dial the respective output blocks to taste in each snapshot, and will that end up being DSP-prohibitive pretty quickly if I am using wah/amp+cab/vol/mod/delay/verb? Thanks.
phil_m
You could use a pair of the 1/4" sends (or just one if you're running in mono) for your monitor output rather than the 1/4" out, and just insert the Send block in your chain right before the output block. This way you can set independent levels for the output block and the send for each snapshot if you want.
fenderod
Great idea to get this done and avoid hogging DSP - thanks Phil! I asked because I may go back to IEMs, and in the past with a traditional mic'd setup, to keep my solos from fatiguing my ears, I would keep my rhythm volume lower than I really preferred. MusicLaw
Helix's Stereo Headphone Out Jack (1/4" TRS) and independent Headphone Volume knob can also come in handy as another level control point to drive an IEM feed, or powered independent Monitor.
