HELPI did something wrong and can't figure out how to undo it

Hi All,

I am new to the Helix and was in the process of adding some pre sets off custom tone and was playing around with a patch I really liked and somehow I reprogramed the unit where I have lost all capability to turn on or off any stomp box.  All I have now is one solid red light pushing it does nothing.  It is on every preset and if I power my unit off, it is still there.  I for the life of me cannot figure out what I have done and how to undo it.  I can turn everything on and off in the software version but my actual unit will not allow me to make changes other than from one preset to another.

Thanks and sorry for asking a dumb question but I have sat here for 30 mins and cannot figure out what I did!

Sorry, I'm not getting what exactly you're seeing. Post a pic maybe?

When you say you can't turn stomps on and off, do you mean with the footswitches, the UI, both? Can you turn things  besides stomp fx on and off, or is it every type of block?

Unfortunately these fixes don't work....Somehow I think I must have assigned something globally as it has happened in all presets.  All footswitch buttons are now not lighted up other than one with a dark red circle and pressing this does nothing-it takes action but nothing is assigned so nothing happens.  I can use the up and down banks but on my LT every single Footswitch is now rendered completely inactive.

Does that help?

Review your global settings for footswitches. My guess is that you are in an unfamiliar operating mode - perhaps the 10 Stomps mode - and you're working in presets that have no FX assigned to footswitches. In that case your display will be blank and there will be no effect when you stomp on any switch. Try hitting the MODE switch and see what happens.

Should you be unable to resolve what changed, simply reinstall the firmware and do a full Reset. Then you can reload any of the CustomTone Presets you were exploring.

Reinstalling the firmware (current version is 2.21) will bring your Helix unit back to a clean slate with all the Factory Presets and the process resets the Global Settings to factory settings, and Rebuilds all the Factory Presets.

The only issue would be if you have any personalized Presets you might wish to preserve. If so, you would need to first Backup any of your personalized Presets (using your current firmware and Editor) before you do such a firmware reinstall and then Restore your personalized Presets after completing the firmware reinstall and full Reset/Rebuild.

If still no good, open a Support Ticket with Line 6 and on Monday contact them directly to assist getting things resolved.
