davidjtsim76
Hi guys, So ran my new Helix at rehearsal last night using the Archon model preamp into my Rocktron Velocity and then a Marshall 4x12 (not mine just whats at the studio). It really sounded pretty great without too much effort but curious to know what people with similar set ups are doing to remove or tame that little bit of fizz on the top end? Eq or is there a more Helix oriented solution? I am totally in love however and its maybe the best gear purchase I’ve made!
jbuhajla
Search "fizz" in the search bar of this forum.
AlexKenivel
Parametric EQ. Use the high cut parameter to roll back the high end. When your fizz disappears, stop rolling back. If you've cut out too much of your tone and it sounds unnatural, find the fizzy frequency with the Parametric EQ itself and scoop it out
willjrock
You can also try another amp. They all sound the same set up in this configuration anyway. Sure some have more bass, less mids, more bass before the gain stages, which produces a bit of a different result than more bass after the gain, some have the ability to produce more distortion, whatever, but tone wise they all sound the same.
