Running Helix between power amp and cab.

Hi folks,

I’m currently running my helix using “5†cable meathod. Helix Guitar in - send 1 to front of JVM - jvm send to helix return 1 - helix left out to jvm return and right out to a blackstar return.

Both amps are driving their own cabs.

Does anyone know if I’d run into any issues (thinking mostly the load the amp will see and fx quality) by running one head but trying to achieve stereo spread by bringing the helix loop after the power section and before the cab?

Something like.....

Guitar in - helix send 1 to front of amp - jvm 16ohm out to helix return 1 (run all mod/dly/verb here) then helix left to cab 1 and helix right to cab 2.

Got it.

I sort of knew it was a no go but the helix does just about everything else.....I’ll just need to keep running 2 heads.

Doesn't matter how fancy modelers get... you can NEVER feed a power amp into anything but a cabinet or a load box. Unless of course the goal is testing your new fire extinguisher...

I’m sure someone’s R&D department would be able to get round it somehow, but I’m not sure how much “want†there’d be for it.

NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never connect the speaker output of an amp into Helix or any other processor. It is designed to be connected only to a speaker or load box. If you need to do that then get something like the Suhr reactive load.
