Saintaru
Does anybody have any recommendations for a VST host that would essentially make the Helix Native run like a standalone version? I used to use Bias FX, where as soon as i turn on my computer the program opens and i can plug in my guitar and start playing. I just find it frustrating to have to open up a project on logic, create a track, put the helix native in the channel strip, then wait for it to load and select my amp. Any suggestions would be appreciated thank you.

rd2rk
https://www.cantabilesoftware.com/free-vst-host If you MUST use a MAC, he's been working on the MAC version, last I heard he was close to a BETA. The PC version is really good.
amsdenj
Get MainStage, it works great with Helix Native and all the Logic Pro X plugins. MIDI configuration is very powerful and reasonable simple (much simpler than Logic Pro X). Mac OS also comes with a simple VST/AU host called AU Lab.app. You can use that with Helix Native too. amor4jc-2
Mainstage hogs system resources!! I'm been an Apple diehard since 1990, but I refuse to use the bloated MainStage. I prefer GigPerformer (https://www.gigperformer.com). Best VST host I have found. It will also follow your snapshots one to one!!
soundog
I agree on MainStage. But, dang! $149 for GigPerformer?! Still .... it really looks really good, and it appears to be used widely in the pro touring segment. Nice.

Now I would say that it was WELL with the money!! Download the free trial and try for yourself. It has both greatly improved my live experience, saves me a ton of time creating songs and set lists, but (thru the rack panels I have creates) allow me to focus on making music and not programming!
soundog
Are you using it with Mac or PC? What are you using for an audio interface in/out, how many inputs/"tracks", and how is the latency? Thx.

I play 2 JTV-69s outfitted with Fishman Triple Play wireless MIDI pickups. I am actually using my Helix Floor as my interface with my guitars connected via VDI. I often have the Variax feeding one signal chain with the MAG pickups and another signal chain with the Variax pickups. Sometimes I will also employ Helix Native, Bias Amp, or Bias FX for different preamp flavors. Using another signal chain on the Helix, I am running various synths including Omnisphere 2.5, DB-33 and SampleTank 3.What I love about this setup is that GigPerformer allows me to control the states & mix of the software using Rack Variations that follow my Helix Snapshots exactly!
