Can I control Native with HX Stomp?

Recommended Posts

I have Native, but I am interested in getting the HX Stomp. My idea, is that if I need more than 6 blocks, I can load presets / snapshots in Native through the foot switches on the HX stomp. Is this possible? Thanks

Thanks for the reply, that applies to HX Effects though, not sure if it also applies to HX Stomp.

Hi taracatac,

As you noted, that article was related to the HX Effects unit and you need to know about Stomp.

Regarding you question about compatibility with Natve, here’s a quote from the HX Stomp FAQ section of this forum, posted by DI.

Can HX Stomp presets be loaded into the Helix Native plug-in?

Not currently, but individual blocks can be copied and pasted between HX Edit 2.70 and Helix Native 1.70. Again, rebuilding an HX Stomp preset in Helix Native shouldn’t take more than 30 seconds.

Another thing to keep in mind ... you can use the buttons on the Stomp to send MIDI control messages to your DAW running Helix Native. And those control messages can be mapped in your DAW to turn on/off blocks, or control parameters (via a volume/wah pedal, for example). For many DAWs, however, that does not include Helix Native preset changes (Snapshot changes are supported, though).

Hi,

No problem and easily done. As for Stomp - well, it’s absolutely great at doing what it was designed for.
