bikerodeo
Is there a way to quickly save/load different stomp mode presets without having to manually change each block? For example - I might have a stomp mode preset for a blues band but want to quickly load a completely different stomp mode preset for a keyboard gig. I'm rather confused about what you are asking here? From what I think you are asking, if you are in Stomp mode, you just need to change to Preset mode to select a new preset and then go back into Stomp mode. rd2rk
Load Guitar preset. Change blocks for keyboard gig. SAVE to a different location. One preset becomes two.
bikerodeo
I realize I used the wrong terminology in my question. I am using stomp mode and have selected different effects for each of the 6 footswitches. The 6 effects I have chosen are what I use for a blues cover band. Now, let's say I have a completely different gig where I want 6 completely different effects. Is there an easy, quick way to load this different 'pedal board' onto the 6 footswitches? Does that make sense?

Does that make sense? Think of like this. You're always in a preset. A preset is made up of up to 9 different blocks. If you go into Stomp Mode, that lets you access the six stomp switches to turn whatever you want off and on in that preset. There's also a mode called Snapshot Mode, but if you haven't looked into that yet, just ignore that for now. So, there are two possible settings for Stomp Mode - 4 and 6 stomps. It sounds like you have yours set to 6 Stomps. To change presets from that view, simply hit the Mode footswitch. That will take you back to Preset Mode. You can use the Bank Up and Down switches on the left to select different presets.
bikerodeo
Thanks everyone. But what I'm asking about is specifically about stomp mode. In stomp mode you can turn individual effects on and off, just like you would a real pedalboard with stomp boxes. I'm asking if I can swap out 6 effects at once in stomp mode. Think of it like this: Current effect lineup in stomp mode: boost > OD > compressor > vibe > delay > verb I want to load 6 different effects in each of the stomp slots for a different project without having to swap out each effect manually using the big knob. So, I want to load this different lineup in stomp mode: distortion > flanger > looper > harmony > echo > verb Is there a way to swap out those two completely different boards in stomp mode without having to swap out each effect manually? Also - I realize I could use preset mode and snapshots to achieve different sounds with those effects. But I'm asking about stomp mode, where I can turn each effect off/on individually. Stomp Mode is just a different way to view each preset. It doesn't exist outside of the preset architecture. In order to change presets from Stomp Mode, you have to hit the Mode footswitch, and select the preset you want to load. If you want to go back into Stomp Mode automatically, you can go to Global Settings>Switches and set the Preset Mode parameter to Momentary. That way the HX Effects will go back to Stomp Mode (and you'll the six stomps switches associated with that preset) automatically.
bikerodeo
I don't want to change presets. Pretend preset mode doesn't exist at all on HX Effects. Pretend there is ONLY stomp mode. Can I load six different effects onto the six different footswitches without having to do it manually, footswitch by footswitch? I realize my initial question is worded that way but that was my mistake with the wrong terminology.

I think I get what you're saying. You want a way to GLOBALLY save footswitch (stomps) settings so that when you create a new preset, regardless of what effect is in a given location in the signal chain, the footswitch used to toggle is pre-assigned. IOW, Block 1 is always Footswitch (stomp) 1, Block 2 is always Footswitch 2, etc. The answer is NO. You can't assign a footswitch to a block until you've loaded an effect into that block. The ability to do this is something I always liked about Amplitube. In Helix, footswitches can be used for much more than just toggling, and that's probably why it doesn't work that way. It doesn't work like that. The Stomp assignments are all per preset. Sorry, it simply sounds like you have a misunderstanding about the basis operation of the unit. But to answer your question, no, you can't do that - not without changing presets.
bikerodeo
Thanks, @phil_m. Your last comment made the light bulb go off. You're right, I didn't understand the relationship between stomp box mode and preset mode, specifically that the effects in any given preset are represented in stomp mode. So simple! Thanks.
