jackfunkinstain
Hello Line 6 Community I would like to know if it is possible to record my expression pedal movements from my helix into my Daw (Ableton). When I record my dry signal I need to simultaneously record my expression pedal movements into my daw as Midi cc Messages, to later be sent back into my helix to automate the movement of the expression pedal during playback. I know that it is possible to use the draw tool in Ableton to manually enter the position of the expression pedal, but this is extremely tedious since I constantly use the expression pedal throughout all my songs. and hard to manually enter since I use different speeds! I also want to be able to send this recorded midi information do my Digitech Bass Whammy Pedal which can receive midi messages. ( please line 6, add a DIGITECH BASS WHAMMY effect) If the Helix can't do this, do you know of a product that can??? Thank you.
codamedia
This should be easy with the Helix.... I don't use Ableton to I can't help you on that end. Connect your Helix to the computer via USB Global Menu > MIDI > Midi over USB (< Make sure this is turned on) Command Center Choose EXP 1 or EXP2 whichever one you run your wah on Set the midi channel Choose the MIDI CC # that you want to transmit Now match the midi channel and CC# in your DAW to record the movement. When you are sending the messages back to the Helix.... you need to set your wah to understand the midi message from the DAW Open your patch Select the wah block Push and hold "position" Set controller to "midi cc" Set the CC number you wish to use note: be sure to double check that the Helix is listening on the correct midi channel As for the digitech bass whammy... can't help you there, but the principle should be the same. brue58ski
That is so cool. I know this kind of stuff is possible. Just haven't had the time to really check it out.
emillkap
I use the pedal mainly with my electric guitar, plugged into FL Studio. It works brilliantly. https://beatbars.com/en/midi-expression-pedal.html
