Lone_Poor_Boy 58 Posted March 14, 2020 Or would an XLR work for connecting the Helix to the Powercab. Or is there a loss of function?
phil_m 4,517 Posted March 14, 2020 The L6 Link cable is just an AES/EBU cable, so you don't need the actual L6 Link cable that Line 6 sells. Any AES/EBU cable will work. A regular XLR cable will work in a pinch, but a mic cable is designed to pass digital information like an AES/EBU cable is. Over longer distances, a mic cable can have more interference and less data integrity, so the best bet is to use an AES/EBU cable.
Fenderflame28 16 Posted March 14, 2020 I have a L6 DT25 combo. When I used to use an XLR cable it worked but was really noisy and would pick up interference in some rooms. AES/EBU is much quieter.
