G50 cable length on body pack...(sorry if not allowed here, posted in Wireless forum as well)

So I got a G50 from my buddy who upgraded his and all.....however the cable length only seems about 18" which would be ok if I attach it to my guitar strap.  I cannot though, my strap is too thin for the belt buckle, and the pack is in the way if I try and put it on my belt anywhere the cable reaches.  Also noticed that the cable seems to come out of the G50 if there is any sort of pull on the cable.  I had it in my shorts front pocket just to jam and such at home, and with a simple walk to the kitchen to refresh my beverage, it pulled it out.  and due to the pin construction of the jack its not hte easiest to quickly insert on the fly.

So, do they make a longer cable? Is this body pack/cable set just worn and that is causing the cable to release easier than a 'new' one?

I just outfitted my guitars all with the same strap.  its a regular nylon type one, its thick enough across my shoulder, but hte thickness of the material is nowhere near that.  Even my last suede ones were thicker and wouldnt be thick enough to satisfy the gap in the metal belt clip.

Always just kept my old wireless in my back pocket or attached on my belt behind me, but this cable isnt nearly long enough.
