I am new to the Helix and I already love it.. i was wondering if anyone could tell me if there are certain people who post great presets on the  forum .. i play in a original rock/hard rock/ metal band but we also do covers of all the great bands..

Any help steering me towards some great presets would be awesome

Here's one I made just assign thhe foot switches and make sure there is a butten that toggles between the clean and dirty amp

That's a strange preset. Why not just control the split to the amps with a switch but use a volume block instead? See attachement.

Helix is wonderful. Customtone is not. When the only common denominator is the patch, and absolutely everything else is different and/or a complete unknown...the player/playing style, guitar, pickups, the monitoring method used, the acoustic environment, and most importantly the volume at which the patch was dialed in...any hope of continuity from one guy to the next is a pipe dream.

If you want proof, download anything you want from Customtone, and see how closely the description fits what you're hearing. It might have sounded glorious to the guy who created it... with his rig, under the unique conditions outlined above. But the odds of it working for you without significant editing is almost zero... and if you do happen to stumble upon one that's perfect as is, it's just dumb luck.

What's the moral? Create your own sounds. You'll get to where you need to be faster and with lot less grief, and without wasting hours searching, downloading, and auditioning dozens of patches to finally hit the one that you'd find useful.

Every bit this. Just as you'd do with a normal guitar amp - you don't download sounds for those, either.

That's what I do when I've got two amps that are dirty and clean, Really I don't think it does anything to the tone if one amp is off and the other on (Could be wrong) But I made this preset kinda quickly and didn''t spend a whole lot of time on it, just set em where the sound good and tweak em later if I get a Helix.

Here is what i do I look at pedals and board that some bands that i like and build my board around that sound (I'm in a Punk band, so think Green Day, Sum 41 sounds and mix it together)

Check out this post for ideas. If you have a certain sound that is reminiscent of a band than check out this links.

Well, in the patch you've posted, when you bypass one of the amps, the dry signal is still running through that path.
