ghoggan69
Hi i have a HX Stomp and I want to use it with my Marshall 6100 head via the effects loop etc Mainly for delays and reverbs but also for Chorus Flanger and Phaser Question is do I have to use 4CM to do this as I have tried this and it is hard to get all the levels balanced plus it sounds like it has a phasing sound going on even with no effects Or would it be easier to just run a few pedals? Cheers
phil_m
Do you have the effects loop on the 6100 set to series? a phasing sound usually means you have two dry paths running in parallel with one page shifted slightly from the other. So it sounds like might have the amp’s loop set to parallel.

Cheers Thoughts over my first cup of coffee on a Saturday morning: Once upon a time, there was a guitar and an amp. Much great music was made. The learning curve was minimal. Then there were effects placed between the guitar and the amp. Much great music was made. The learning curve was steeper. More experimentation and strategic creativity was required. Then someone figured out that certain (mostly time-based) effects sounded better between the preamp and poweramp. Much great music was made. The learning curve got steeper. Check out the "Rig Rundowns" on YouTube. Some people use FX Loops, some don't. Much great music is made. The choice is up to you. In the beginning there was a guitar and an amp. Much great music was made.

Cheers Levelwise you should set Output Level aswell as Sent/Return to Line in the Global settings. I'd use the loop in parallel mode and set all FX (modulations, reverbs, delays 100% wet [mix =100%]).
