USB disconnected mid-update

Best I can suggest is trying these reset options first.

HX Stomp

1.  All 3 Footswitches clears all presets/IRs

2.  FS1+2 resets presets and IRs

3.  FS 2+3 does a factory restore (globals, presets, IRs)

4.  Pressing and Holding down the "Page >" Button while powering up will put the HX Stomp into update mode. This update mode is helpful if the update is interrupted, and the HX Stomp will not boot properly. You will see a blank screen (no visual feedback on the display).

5While holding both the Upper and Lower Knobs, turn on HX Stomp. Wait for "Will rebuild Presets..." to appear and let go. - This will rebuild presets manually.

Make sure to always update to the latest firmware using Line 6 Updater.

So after trying all the different USB ports and changing USB cables, it still didn't work...

Then I tried it with my laptop just now and it's worked :')

It's still got all my presets, I thought it was supposed to factory-reset it?

No it doesn’t, it updates all your installed presets to the latest format. You can get the new Artist’s preset etc. (FACTORY 1 Setlist) if you want to.

Here are the notes:

If you made a backup of all your presets then you can do as suggested by “CraigGT” in the post above -

1.  All 3 Footswitches clears all presets/IRs

2.  FS1+2 resets presets and IRs

3.  FS 2+3 does a factory restore (globals, presets, IRs)

You can also install the new presets through HX Edit v 3.0

Hope this helps.

Cheers, I wasn't looking to factory reset/get rid of all my presets, so I'm not fussed.

I am intrigued with teh new Artists presets though, does anyone know if any of them are for bass? Won't bother downloading any of them if they're just for guitar

They should load up if you do the reset, but if you don’t want to use them you can overwrite them if you wish.

The list of who did what is near the end of this post:

or if you do want to download the setlists are available here:

Hmm I didn't see them on the Stomp, seemed to be exactly as how it was before the update

Oh, now I see, the first link about artist presets in the release notes doesn’t mention the HX stomp, but the second link does have a download for the Stomp. Load ‘em up an’ check ‘em out. Don’t like ‘em - wipe ‘em and put your own stuff in.

Is there some trick to do on the Stomp to get HX Edit to recognise a device?

You shouldn’t have to do anything other than plug in the USB cable between the Stomp and your computer and turn on the power, HX Edit should see it.

Ensure that your are using version HX Edit 3.0 and do not use a USB hub. Note on some PCs the USB ports on the front of the case act like a hub.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
