Solved - Does one update equal all?

I just bought an HX Effects a few weeks ago and it came out of the box running firmware 2.3. If I run the 3.0 update will that include all updates from 2.6, 2.8, and 2.9 also, or will I need to run all of those individual updates separately to get all of those effects?

Sorry, I know that the easiest way to find the answer would be to just do it and see, but I'm out of town right now and won't be able to play with this until late next week. The anticipation is killing me!

Thanks.

Yes, 3.0 will include all the features from former updates. The factory presets are somewhat different through the versions. You should be able to go straight to 3.0.  Start by taking backups with your current version of HX Edit. Follow the update instructions carefully.

I also Bought a Helix Floor and it had 2.3 on it. I have not been able to get my computer to even be able to find my product on Line 6 Updater or HX Edit. Please help!

Good start.

I keep telling myself that I am going to stop doing this, but let’s give this one more go around, just for the hell of it.

You don’t mention what your computer is and the OS you’re using, which is really handy to know, but it’s essentially the same routine for PC or Mac.

  1. Remove all Line 6 software from your computer especially the Windows drivers and then restart your computer.
  2. Make sure to turn off the power to your Helix.
  3. Unplug the USB cable from the computer and Helix.
  4. Hold down FS6 & FS12 and the turn power on and when Helix logo appears, quickly release both foot switches. Leave it powered up.
  5. Download the and install latest HX Edit v. 3 (with all the drivers)
  6. Reconnect the USB cable to Helix and computer - Do not use a Hub - the front ports on a PC function as a hub so use one on the rear.
  7. Find and launch the Line 6 Updater and install the v.3.01 firmware file

For the Line 6 official guide - read this and follow the instructions to the letter.

No guarantees are given or implied, you do this at your own risk. If it doesn’t work, raise a ticket with Customer Support.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
