biologichael
I have a helix lt and get the same problem whether Im using by Les Paul or my Ibanez. When I play without blocks I get a clean signal, but when I add an amp that I would expect a clean tone from, I get this scratchy digital sound. I attached an mp3 that demonstrate three strokes with amp on followed by three strokes with amp bypassed. Can anyone help me understanding what I do wrong? Thanks, Michael untitled.mp3
zolko60
Nothing is wrong. This is the sound of a guitar amp with no speaker. Also Helix amps models distorts very quickly, some of them have almost no "clean" headroom.
phil_m
As noted above, what you’re doing wrong is not using a cab or IR block with the amp block. There are single blocks that have both an amp and cab combined. Those are under the Amp/Cab category. You chose just an amp from the Amp category.
biologichael
Thanks guys, good to hear. I still get it with cap, but I can adjust it away. I was just nervous that something was off, but as I understand your comments, I shouldn't worry about it. Thanks
theElevators
try taking the default presets and messing around with them to learn how signal chains are set up. It's overwhelming at first. I've certainly been there.
