george_007
Hi Team! I have an HX Stomp that I have not updated for a while. It's currently running firmware 2.71. Can I update directly to 3.01 or do I need to update to 2.92 first? And (do I even dare to ask): Will my presets still be on the HX Stomp and will they sound the same after the update? Regards Georg

Hi, Simple answer yes, but... here’s the caveat - FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER. Please note: The current firmware version is 3.01, but the version of HX Edit is still v.3.0 15 minutes ago, george_007 said: Will my presets still be on the HX Stomp and will they sound the same after the update? Erm... why would they change? Why would they sound different? Suggestion: read, study and inwardly digest the release notes for the update. Hope this helps/makes sense. In other guitar processors, like for example Fractal Audio AX8, the amplifiers can be modified between firmware updates and thus your preset will sound different after an update. This means that you will need to tweak any preset based on a modified amp after an update. I wondered if there was something similar for the Helix firmware. Now I understand, and that seems like a bad move on Fractal's part, not a good idea. No , your presets will not change after updating and the only time that has ever been a possible issue, was when the the reverbs were altered to make them sound more "wet". Ordinarily, they will not change, and you are usually promted to make a back up of all your presets prior to doing any update as a failsafe precaution. I would advise that you read these links first: And then this Hope this helps/makes sense
