DunedinDragon
All you need is to have your computer hooked up to your Helix unit via a USB cable and your Helix turned on then download and run the HX Edit 3.01 installation program from the Line 6 web site. That will install everything you need and walk you through the firmware installation on your Helix LT. Follow all directions precisely.

As you have been lurking on this forum for quite a while now, I thought that you might have read all those “Update bricked my Helix, please help” posts along with the solutions offered, but, hey! Seriously, you might have to re-install the firmware, or maybe not - anyhow, turn of the power to your LT, then turn it back on again while holding down foot-switches 9 & 10 for the Factory Reset option. If that fails you may need to use “Safe Boot”, the Line 6 Updater and a local flash memory bundle to preform a re-install of v3.01.0 It’s either this or sitting in a corner quietly sobbing until v3.1 arrives to take the pain out of updating firmware. Reset Options Helix Floor/LT Button Combination Description 2 LED light Fun 3 & 4 Test Mode 5 & 6 Global reset 7 & 8 Reset setlists to factory, Keep IRs 8 & 9 Reset setlists to factory, Clear IRs 9 & 10 Reset setlists to factory, Global reset, Clear IRs 10 & 11 Upgrades existing presets to latest format 11 & 12 Clear current preset 5 & 12 Clear setlists, clear IRs, Return system settings to default 6 & 12 Safe boot mode To use Reset Options: Power off the Helix Hold the desired button combination Power on the Helix Release the button combination Please note: Buttons are numbered from top left to bottom right. Of course you did read this - didn’t you? The bit in red under Step Tres Hope this helps/makes sense Edited March 23, 2021 by datacommando Added link
titchyblackcat
I know, I know, I can feel your smirks from here. Just re-booted pc and went for the update again and it went through this time. Back to my hours of un-bridled fun. (Not at all embarrassed)

(Not at all embarrassed) Maybe you should change your handle to 'TwitchyBlackCat", because it all seems to freak you out! It's not six months since you were "twitched" about the power switch on a new HX Stomp, then some one had opened the box on the new LT, and OMG a possible failed install. Settle down and enjoy the unbridled fun, but read the instruction manual first. ;-)
