sh4rkbyt31
I'm fairly new to this so please go easy. After installing the 3.11 Firmware update my scribble strips show either the preset or snapshot only? The ability to access specific pedals that are included with the Snapshot aren't showing up? I went to Global Settings > Footswitches > Preset Mode Switches (Set to Snap/Stomp) > Stomp Mode Switches (Set to 8 Switches). Kinda lost here. Previously through the last Firmware update the Snapshot would show up and then on the Scribble strip I could turn on or off individual pedals that were included in the routing, not now? rd2rk
Restore your Global Settings from the Backup you made (per the instructions) when you did the update. You DID follow the instructions? EDIT: Including doing the factory reset after the update......
sh4rkbyt31
The Backup part never showed up? Did do the factory reset, still the same?
rd2rk
If you followed the directions, the first thing you did was to install HX Edit 3.10. From within HX Edit you selected "Check for Updates". The first part of the actual update process was to clearly and unambiguously suggest that you create a backup. After the update you were advised to do a factory reset, then restore from the backup. At this point you need to go into HX Edit, click on the ? in the lower left corner and select "About". At the top of the ABOUT screen you'll see the installed FW version (should be 3.11), and at the bottom you'll see the HX Edit version (3.10). Then go into the Global Settings on the Helix and play with the FOOTSWITCHES settings until you get back to what you had. Remember that FS6, whose Scribble Strip says "Preset/Stomp" is used to Toggle between the Modes, which are customized using the aforementioned Global Settings. Just a suggestion - you might want to take a few minutes to RTM. It explains the Global Settings better than I can.
sh4rkbyt31
Thank you very much. I must have overlooked it then when I was trying to figure out how to turn off Windows Smart Screen in order to get things to run/load. I'll dive into the manual and see what I can learn, appreciate you responding. If all else fails I suppose I can go back to 3.0 or 3.01 and start over to build up to current? rd2rk
Cross that bridge when you get to it.

Choose from “8 Presets,” “Preset/Stomp” (one bank of presets on the top row, switches from stomp mode on the bottom row), “Stomp/Preset” (switches from stomp mode on the top row, one bank of presets on the bottom row), “Preset/Snap” (one bank of presets on the top row, Snapshots 1-4 on the bottom row), “Snap/Preset” (Snapshots 1-4 on the top row, one bank of presets on the bottom row), “Snap/Stomp” (Snapshots 1-4 on the top row, switches from stomp mode on the bottom row), “Stomp/Snap” (switches from stomp mode on the top row, Snapshots 1-4 on the bottom row), and “8 Snapshots” (Snapshots 1-8). It is full of amazing information - read study and inwardly digest. Plus! reading and following the information supplied in firmware release notes, is very useful. Also, as note by “rd2rk” in the post above - the that the Scribble Strip above the Mode Button (FS6) now displays which mode is currently active—Preset or Stomp. Hope this helps/makes sense
sh4rkbyt31
It does, thank you. I was reading that section last night in fact. Trying to digest the manual in it's entirety is a daunting task but definitely necessary. I really appreciate the help here on this forum from you guys. Unlike some other forums that will remain nameless (Linux) lol this is a much friendlier environment.
