Orange Rocker 32 plus DT25 Wet/Dry/Wet Configurations

I just purchased a Helix Rack, arriving some time next week. My original guitar rig was a Line 6 DT25 and Pod HD500X. I still have the DT25, which has been taking up space in storage since I sold the HD 500 and bought an Orange Rocker 32 2x10 combo (stereo amp).

I got the Helix as a replacement for my pedal board. But looking at pictures of the back of the unit, I am really wondering whether it isn't time to dust off the DT25.

Here is my main question: is it possible to set up a stereo configuration on the Orange Rocker using a four-cable method, and then add the DT25 using the XLR cable? I am not especially technical, and of course I do not even have the Helix yet. Has anyone provided instructions on how to do this? Is it possible to change the preamps on the DT25 using the XLR cable (the way the Pod HD500 could) using the Helix? A few years ago, I heard you could not, but recently heard rumors that a Helix update now makes that possible.

My ultimate goal is to set up the Orange Rocker and the DT25 to create a three speaker stereo wet/dry/wet effect.  I have never done anything like this, and would describe my technical ability as slightly above beginner.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

When your rack arrives, make sure it has FW v3.11, and that HX Edit is likewise on v3.11.

Select the Output Block, and you'll see the a tab with the DT25 settings in the Bypass/Controller Assign section.

Those are the DT25 settings that you have control over, using footswitches and snapshots, over L6 Link.

As for your w/d/w-4cm configuration, just take a split before your wet effects and give that path it's own Output Block, assigned to DIGITAL.

Should work fine.

Thank you for your helpful response.

So the Helix rack has arrived. Very cool! I had no problem setting up stereo on the Orange Rocker 32. I also dusted off the DT25. But I could not find my AES/EBU cable (aka Line 6 Link). Ordered one on Amazon and should arrive Sunday.

Since I bought my Helix used, it came without factory presets, but was updated with latest firmware. I have spent most of my time so far messing around with effects, hooking up my pedals and my Variax guitar. Really, just messing around.

I haven't even plugged it into a computer yet. Just knob fiddling. Nor have I loaded IRs or tried amp sims (into headphones). But sounds great coming out of the Rocker.

As soon as I get the AES/EBU cable, I'll try the wet/dry/wet configuration experimenting with using alternative wet channels, and even separating Variax magnetic and piezo signals into the two amps.

Honestly, the whole thing is a bit overwhelming. But let's not kid ourselves: it's also lots of fun. Looking forward to months of fiddling.

I'll post a follow-up after I get the wet/dry/wet set up.
