  1. Hi everyone, I've been using a processor for a while now (9 years), and while it still performs remarkably well in many respects, it's beginning to show its age. I'm aware that some people have moved on to using cab sims, but I've decided to take a different route. I've been charmed by a particular tube amp sound in my processor, and it led me to purchase an Orange AD30HTC. Now, I'm curious about the possibilities of integrating my new tube amp with the processor, and I have a few questions: Is it possible to include the amp in the processor's loop chain if it outputs at 8 or 16 Ohms and 30 Watts? Can the amp's output be used as a line-in for the processor or directly for the guitar without damaging it? Can the processor's output be used as an input to the amp? (This seems likely, but I'd like confirmation.) Is it feasible to use the processor's screamer, distortion, and reverb effects with a USB output, or will this setup not achieve high-quality linear-USB sound? What about adding a cab sim into the mix with Amp? I'm simply looking to record high-quality tube sounds on my computer, not for live performances. Any advice or experiences you've had with combining real amp heads with processors would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
  2. I just purchased a Helix Rack, arriving some time next week. My original guitar rig was a Line 6 DT25 and Pod HD500X. I still have the DT25, which has been taking up space in storage since I sold the HD 500 and bought an Orange Rocker 32 2x10 combo (stereo amp). I got the Helix as a replacement for my pedal board. But looking at pictures of the back of the unit, I am really wondering whether it isn't time to dust off the DT25. Here is my main question: is it possible to set up a stereo configuration on the Orange Rocker using a four-cable method, and then add the DT25 using the XLR cable? I am not especially technical, and of course I do not even have the Helix yet. Has anyone provided instructions on how to do this? Is it possible to change the preamps on the DT25 using the XLR cable (the way the Pod HD500 could) using the Helix? A few years ago, I heard you could not, but recently heard rumors that a Helix update now makes that possible. My ultimate goal is to set up the Orange Rocker and the DT25 to create a three speaker stereo wet/dry/wet effect. I have never done anything like this, and would describe my technical ability as slightly above beginner. Thanks for all your help in advance.
  3. Hello, good day everyone. Guitar noob question here. So I have a line 6 pod hd bean, an orange dark terror and orange 1x12 cab. I'm not so much liking the stock amps in the line 6 hd edit and wish to use the dark terror along with the pod. Is that something that could be done? Can I just send a cable from the input in the dark terror into the pod hd left or right input and then connect my guitar to the pod hd? Or should I connect the pod to the fx loop in the dark terror? Which I am quite unfamiliar with. Cheers!
  4. I'm thinking of getting a Helix LT next week to use as a 4CM FX only board with my Orange Dual Dark 50. I've been led to believe the amp has a line level tube FX loop. Would the following configuration of I/O and level settings work to maintain correct gain structure through the rig?... Guitar > Helix In Loop 1 (Inst Lvl) Send > Amp In Amp Send > Loop 2 (Line Lvl) Return Helix (Line Lvl) Out > Amp Return Thanks.
  5. Can the firehawk 1500 amps do all the orange amps because I just need one amp for gigging. All my orange amps are heavy to bring around so can the firehawk 1500 do that.
  6. Hello everyone. I recently bought a Line 6 PODxt from ebay and when I turned it on, it only shows a blank orange screen. The channel lights don't even light up. I was wondering whether the problem is the voltage because the plug is 230V and in Canada, the main voltage is 120V. I used an adapter that can handle up to 250V. The person I bought it from said that it worked fine when before he sent it to me. I really don't know what is wrong with it. Any help will be appreciated.
  7. Hi there ! I would need the community help and experience about the 4 cables method to link the POD HD500X to my Orange TH30 head. I wish to : - use clean & crunch preamp of the POD (with effects) - use the dirty channel of my TH30 (with POD equalizer & effects). I already tested the 4 cables methods. It seems to well work. However, when I use the dirty channel of my TH30 through the FX loop of the POD, I clearly have a loss of signal. Do you know any tip or setup solution to avoid this loss ? Does anybody already use this kind of method with an Orange TH30 ? Thanks in advance for your help ! Ju.
  8. This is another combination patch, Orange OR80 and the Marshal Plexi. Created with a PRS SE Custom 24. In the recording below, I utilize both humbuckers and single coil tones. Hope you like it. http://line6.com/customtone/tone/2218528/ Link to audio sample: https://soundcloud.com/aepoc/saginaw-3
  9. Here is my board I made for the hd500x. I've replaced the ditto with a 720 but nothing else has changed. I built the board out of pine that I had sawed and kilned for shop lumber. I didn't use any joinery and it was very simple to make. Although I did get to this point from a log, a nice woodshop will have better options. I made this before I seen the ikea hack but it is very much the same. As for routing, there are many options and I'd like to know how you guys are incorporating your stereo rigs with fx loops and this pedal. I'm currently running the pedal itself in mono because the octave and modulation are really nice on the front end, then both amps have a different od from the aby, a single eq, stereo reverb, and stereo/pan volume. In the effects loop is a timefactor, trinity reverb, and looper (currently). I find myself moving these around a lot. Anyone have any better routing options or suggestions?
