rmaginnis
Just asking because i'm not sure if I should be setting my HD500 PAD switch to normal or PAD. Please advise.
TheRealZap
Normal, unless you have active pickups and audible clipping.
stevekc
Correct - the Stock JTV-69 would use the input pad switch in the "normal" position. I find the stock JTV-69 Bridge PU to be in the Gibson Vintage P.A.F. PU tone and output territory, and NOT in the high output PU territory. clay-man
You should only use PAD if it's clipping the hardest you play. Generally you want the hardest you play to be just below clipping when it comes to an input signal.
jandrio
u shld consider using the VDI. It offers a lot on unique advantages (model+tuning+tone knob selection per preset, pure digital signal, battery-less operation, HD500 parameters control thru JTV).
