She was glad she was far enough away to avoid the flying spit, but watched his fat wet lips curl into a leering smile, remembering the way they'd felt against hers when they'd kissed only hours before, his foul breath mixing with hers. Those disgusting lips had kissed her most intimate places, some of which no other man had touched before.

She shivered again, tamping down her body's sudden unexplainable arousal. She thought of her tall handsome boyfriend and her ardor unexpectedly cooled. She'd had sex with him last night too. She pushed away all thoughts of sex, she had no wish to compare the two men, and focused on the task at hand.

"Thanks David," she said sincerely to the old pervert. "We're square then?"

"Yeah, we're square," he said sighing. He looked her up and down wistfully, wishing she was wearing something other than the long thick robe that covered her wondrous body so completely.

"Good. Turn around and go home," she said firmly. "Our deal is done."

She smiled at him tightly, turned on her heel and went back into her house, slamming the door behind her... her theatrics very final and definitive.

The old man stood there for a moment staring at her door, shrugged then turned away and strutted back to his house, whistling happily.

As soon as Kim was inside, she turned and put her eye to the peephole and watched him walk across the street. Why the hell could she feel herself getting wet at the sight of his wide fat lollipop, narrow shoulders and skinny arms and legs? His nearly bald head gleamed in the light of the late morning sun.

She saw him go in his house and shut the door behind him. She leaned back against the door and sighed, wondering what was going on with her.

She'd deny it until her dying day, to herself and to anyone around her, but the element of degradation and humiliation he'd put her through had turned her on more than she'd care to admit.

If you pick the amp block and IR (or helix cab block) that best reassembles the tone you have in mind, then tweak the bass/mid/treble/other tone shaping blocks you're good to go in both scenarios. You need to dial your tone in a similar surrounding to what you aim to perform in, if studio recording thru studio monitors, if in a live scenario, preferably a floor monitor which you are familiar with the sound of. You could also use an eq block of choice to further tune the sound. For a live situation the global eq is sometimes good if you need to make the same change onto every preset you use, but in a studio situation if you use the helix as a soundcard that eq will not end up being recorded, just monitored thru.

I'd suggest beginning with an amp block>IR block>Cali eq block to begin the tone shaping adventure.

Or did I understand this post wrong? Do you ask for technical consultation on what to look for in a frequency analyser, regardless of what helix chain being in use?

Hello,

I am very New to understanding frequencies for guitar.   I am in need of advice of where in helix to set the frequencies and what the frequency should be for two different scenarios.  1) Live performance straight to PA. 2) straight to DAW for recording.

Hi,

When you  say "frequencies for guitar", I think what you are actually referring to is the audio "Sample Rate", which is used for recording, this should have no real affect on the audio output from a P.A. system in a Live environment.

The Helix family of products can use any of the four most common sample rates in general use, 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.21kHz and 96kHz. The default setting on Helix is 48kHz. These options are used in conduction with your DAWs settings to match sample rates between the two.

To save me lots of typing to explain this, it might be worth watching this video for a little more insight.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

Generally I don't differentiate between recording or live performance as far as the sample rate since it's pretty rare that anyone will ever notice the difference between the default of 48kHz and any of the higher rates despite many subjective opinions.

If, on the other hand  you are talking about actual frequency adjustments to the guitar between recording or live, I rarely differentiate there either.  Given you have high quality live speakers and studio monitors you'll pretty much get a good profile given you don't go nuts with adjusting individual frequencies.  For the most part I depend more on a proper selection of cabinet model and microphone selections and placements to get a decent basic tone and only tweek minor problems using EQ.
