Aurasphere_au
Based on my previous thread...am trying to get pretty much Left Side Delay 3 x 16ths (Dotted 8th right?) Right Side Delay 6 x 16ths (Dotted 1/4 right) Either Ableton is wrong of the delays in Helix are wrong when I try and set the same...as they sound rhythmically completely different...unless I have the above interpretation wrong Also: there seems to be no obvious way of getting dotted triplets? Schmalle
Yes, in terms of duration the following applies: dotted 8th = 1.5 x 8th = 3 x 16th dotted 4th = 1.5 x 4th = 3 x 8th = 6 x 16th "Dotted" and "triplet" cancel each other out, i.e. a dotted 8th triplet is an 8th note.
DunedinDragon
I believe Ableton provides a mathematically correct triplet which is 1.33 + 1.33 + 1.33 = 4 standard beats rounded to the nearest whole number. I'm not sure any of the delays in the Helix have any provision for that level of precision.

Hi, A dot adds 50% again to a note's value: it multiplies the length of a note by 3/2. A triplet makes 3 copies of a note fit into the space of 2. (Three eighth note triplets in the space of two eighth notes.) So the triplet sign multiplies the length of a note by 2/3. 2/3 * 3/2 = 1. If you really need precision you could set your timings in milliseconds, but that requires that you don’t deviate from the overall time setting - no jazz! NOTE VALUE NOTES DOTTED TRIPLETS 1/1 (1 Bar) 2000 ms / 0.5 Hz 3000 ms / 0.33 Hz 1333.33 ms / 0.75 Hz 1/2 (2 Beats) 1000 ms / 1 Hz 1500 ms / 0.67 Hz 666.67 ms / 1.5 Hz 1/4 (1 Beat) 500 ms / 2 Hz 750 ms / 1.33 Hz 333.33 ms / 3 Hz 1/8 250 ms / 4 Hz 375 ms / 2.67 Hz 166.67 ms / 6 Hz 1/16 125 ms / 8 Hz 187.5 ms / 5.33 Hz 83.33 ms / 12 Hz 1/32 62.5 ms / 16 Hz 93.75 ms / 10.67 Hz 41.67 ms / 24 Hz 1/64 31.25 ms / 32 Hz 46.88 ms / 21.33 Hz 20.83 ms / 48 Hz Hope this helps/makes sense. 1

Yep thats what I thought...cubase has it as well On 9/8/2023 at 8:12 PM, datacommando said: requires that you don’t deviate from the overall time setting - no jazz! Yeah thats not going to work as the feel at each gig is different and I normally tap tempo...its usually within a couple of beats but its incredible how that changes...its normally set by what you feel in the crowd/audience. On top of that add the micro groove and if you are tired...playing a couple of ms behind etc Thanks anyway. Ideally would love to be able to patch stuff between plugins really but I just left a vote for helix native to do that...if it did I would set up a mini pc rig instead of Helix for sure

It's a single code base
