Connect Helix with Peavey 30 Classic….. mission imposible

Hi I'm trying to figure out how to connect my helix to my Peavey Classic 30 tube amp, using the Helix External Amp output connected directly with a stereo cable to the channel change input on my amp. I saw a few tutorials  of YouTube
but I have not been able to do it. I would appreciate any kind of help to be able to change from my pedalboard the channels of my amplifier. Thanks in advance. Best regards

I don't own or have any experience with this amp but from some quick research and your photo I have a couple of observations that may be helpful:

1) Wikipedia says this amp has "Optional footswitch control for reverb, channel switching, and boost".

2) Your photo shows Channel and Boost functions controlled by the same hardware jack.

So that leads to a couple of questions:

1) Are you sure your specific amp has the Channel switching capability?

2) If so, do you need to change some setting in your amp so that the hardware jack distinguishes between a footswitch controlling the Channel or Boost functions?

Is it engaging the boost or doing nothing? Here's a quick vid to show how to make the changes to (hopefully) make it work.

Looks to me like you can assign both the boost and the channel if you use two Helix footswitches and a TRS cable.  Good luck!

The only other issue might be it uses those Boss type switches that are momentary or whatever.  Like the FS-6.  Don't own this particular amp so I can't verify.

Hi!

A dedicated relay switcher will definitely work.

I think Peavey uses common V+ instead of common ground.

Is the channel getting switched (depending on the channel selected on the amp) when you connect both units with the TRS cable (Helix: External Amp <-> Peavey: Channel /  Boost)? - If so you can build a modded TRS cable and get either the channel switching or the boost function Helix-switchable: you cut the tip or ring connection and swap the other two e.g. tip and sleeve.
