stevecu
When I add a Fender Twin Reverb or Deluxe Reverb, I only see the same controls as the normal channel for either of these amps. I can't find the reverb controls (Reverb, Speed, Intensity) on my HD500 or in the HD500 Edit app. I feel like I'm missing something obvious here. I know there's a separate pre-amp circuit, but shouldn't there be some extra knobs. (separately, I find it baffling that there doesn't seem to be some 10 year old discussion of this topic). silverhead
The Reverb FX block must be added separately; it’s not included in the amp model. For authenticity select the Reverb model (probably a Spring reverb) that is available on the real amp. You may need to research that. stevecu
That's what I've been using (the '63 Spring, which I believe is a Fender). Pretty sure the original had a spring, it's what the reissue of the Deluxe has. Thought I'd finally take the time to dig up how to use the actual reverb in the amp model. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to tell the difference (if there would have been any). Still it seems odd that L6 included a second amp model, but left the primary differentiator to a separate FX block. I guess there's not really anywhere to put the extra controls in the amp block, but why not include a "'65 Blackface" Reverb FX, and label the knobs to match those on the amp. I guess modeling the reverb separately from the amp would be tricky, the way they did it give you more options (like using the reverb on the normal channel). Anyway, thanks for the reply. You aren't really modeling X-amp if you aren't using X-amp's control layout.
silverhead
If you are trying to replicate the physical amp setup as closely as possible you should use the Amp and Cab models separately (not the Amp+Cab model) and place the Spring reverb model before the Cab. That’s where the built-in Reverb is positioned in the phyusical amp in terms of signal flow. You may already be doing this. If not give it a try. Your Mic model can also have a great effect on the tone; experiment with several different mic models.

Actually there is no separate CAB block in the HD series, the CAB is just one of the parameters of the AMP model block. However, simply placing the spring reverb block just before the Deluxe Reverb model block still gives a very similar result to the original built into the real amp. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
