Helix external amp channel switch - snapshot not saving

Hello, as a Helix newbie (former boss gt-1000), am very pleased with it so far. At the moment I am using it in front of the amp with my blackstar HT-club 40 combo and extension cabinet as i love the preamp sound of the blackstar. i have a few gigs coming up so, planning to use the 4CM once they are out of they way and i have some time so i can keep the BS preamp sound, and benefit from the amp modelling in the helix - whereas at the moment i am really using it as a pedal board.

The external amp switch works fine, first time. BUT, when i save all the snapshots (e.g. clean, dirty etc) they initially work fine. However, later at band practice i plug in, the amp switch setting for the snapshot has changed. dirty becomes clean and vice versa - when i assign the footswith (and light) to be on when dirty - it is now the opposite. and i have to go through every preset and re-save. Then, you guessed it, i get home, and the same thing happens only now the channel switch changes again, and lit means the clean rather than dirty channel. Am using a TRS cable and the blackstar has additional reverb and voice settings that can be controlled by TRS but i dont what that just simple channel switch (i.e. ring).

This is driving me nuts, if anyone can help or offer a suggestion i would greatly appreciate it

all the best

Nigel

Pressing the OD switch on your amp should fix the issue.

The amp also has an External Switching Mode to prevent this kind of issue. Press and hold the Clean Voice and OD select switches on the amp for 5 seconds to enter it.

See page 13 "External switching mode" of the Blackstar's manual:

Quote

EXTERNAL SWITCHING MODE:

To switch to External Switching mode: simply press and hold the Clean Voice and OD select switches for 5 seconds. The LEDs will then flash together to indicate the change of mode. The amplifier will retain this mode, even when switched off, until it is changed back to normal/footswitch mode.
