Hey y'all! So I'm a young aspiring guitarist and I'm looking to completely revamp my pedal board with an HX Effects, Slash MXR Octave Fuzz, Dunlop Volume X Mini, and a few other pedals I already have.

Ive been looking for info on how to hook up the HX Effects and haven't found much answering my question

Can I just run my HX Effects through the system like a normal pedal? my train of thought was Tuner-> Dunlop volume-> MXR Octave Fuzz-> HX Effects-> Hall of fame reverb-> Maybe a Boss Digital delay-> out to amp.

now my question is can I use the HX Effects as a normal pedal (Having it go in a normal signal chain and just having flow through the pedals and not to the amp and back) or do I have to do the 4 cable method where I run the guitar through my normal pedals then to the amp then to the HX Effects and back to the amp? Much help would be appreciated!

It’s up to you. You can just place it in-line with your other pedals as you’ve shown or you can use the 4CM assuming your amp has an FX loop. The advantage of the 4CM is that you can place HX FX blocks and your physical pedals (e.g. reverb, delay) after your preamp in the signal chain. Some people prefer to place time based FX after the preamp and before the cab/speaker; 4CM lets you do that.
