Switch touch assign issue with HX stomp XL

Hi, I was wondering if maybe you could help me with an issue I have. My HX XL is brand new, at first everything was working correctly but after I upgraded the firmware to the 3.80 version, one of the 6 switches started to behave in a weird way.... The FS4 switch now only works to turn on/off any effect that is already assigned to it (in a factory preset) but I can not assign any effect to it anymore with the touch function. When I lightly touch the FS4 nothing happens. The only way I can assign an effect to FS4 is if I do it via HX edit software on my computer, wich is not very convenient. I looked up the command center to see if I had changed something accidently but all the switches are set exactly the same way... Has anyone  had the same issue or knows how to fix it? It would be greatly appreciated :)  Thank you and have a great day!

Hi,

To reiterate the comments from @theElevators in the post above - the first rule in Helix world is, when weird and/or unexpected stuff starts to happen, perform Factory Reset.

I note that you have said that you had recently updated the Firmware to v.3.80. If that is the case, and you followed the Release notes (linked below), you would see that a Factory Reset is major part of the upgrade process. You are also prompted to backup, and restore your files after the reset. The backup file should contain your Global settings file, which contains the control settings for your foot switches. If that is not set correctly you may encounter issues with the switches.

Hope this helps makes sense.

Thank you for your advice @datacommando and  @theElevators, I appreciate it. I tried  resetting the factory presets many times and then restoring my backups but to no avail :(

I even went back to the 3.71 software version via Line 6 Central software using a different usb port. I really thought THAT would resolve the problem but that FS4 just doesn't respond to the touch anymore. It just doesn't make sense... I also thought something had been deactivated in the global settings/command center, but no... Other than that, the rest works fine but it's really frustrating that there is no other way to assign an effect to a switch, apart from using my desktop...

I will call the line 6 help center tomorrow. If you think of anything else, please let me know... Cheers!

Hi,

That is probably the best course of action in this situation.

As your HX Stomp XL is essentially brand new it is covered by warranty and you will possibly be advised to return it to the store where you purchased it for a fully functional replacement device.

Good luck.

Here's a video of the issue at hand just so you can visualize what's going on.

Oops! Sadly, that is not an attached video - it’s a generic .php file, which means it was uploaded incorrectly, or contains an unacceptable file extension.

Hmmm, I tried to re uploading the mp4 file again but for some reason it changes it to a php file :( Never mind, there was no new information on the video, it was just a visual of what I already told you ...
